We're thrilled to share that Founder & CEO of CWP Global, Mark Crandall, took the stage today at the Belgrade Energy Forum for an insightful interview. Hosted by one of the most prestigious energy events in the region, Mark engaged in a dialogue highlighting pivotal trends in renewable energy development, hydrogen innovation, and the pathways to decarbonizing our energy landscape and industries. During his participation, Mark shared some invaluable takeaways: - Southeast Europe's transition away from fossil fuels will require the full implementation of current wind and solar projects.  - The urgency of accelerating renewable energy adoption in Europe was emphasized, with a projected need of approximately 7,000 GW of renewables by 2050.  - Mark pointed out the biggest obstacle: the absence of a clear price signal in the market, making it challenging for developers to secure financing. He stressed the importance of regulatory intervention, suggesting measures such as CFDs, auctions, and carbon taxes to ensure a sustainable energy future.  - Regarding hydrogen, Mark noted that its widespread use in Europe may be limited to niche applications like serving the needs of refineries for desulfurization processes. He suggested that Europe may likely import hydrogen from regions with abundant renewable resources, such as Africa, where production costs are lower due to plentiful sunlight and wind. Mark's participation at #BEF2024 underscored not only his leadership within CWP Global but also his commitment to championing renewable energy initiatives, not just in the SEE region, but on a global scale. #RenewableEnergy #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #BelgradeEnergyForum
