We recently welcomed our summer analysts, Noah Bhuta and Brandon Worthy (Brandon W.), and we’re excited to work alongside them over the next several weeks. With a number of college students interning and many recent graduates starting their careers, Beth Haas and Daniel Kessler share some of their advice with our interns and others nationwide.

As summer is coming to a close and university is in session, we want to highlight our summer 2024 interns for their hard work and commitment to our firm. We asked each intern to provide what they learned this summer and their most memorable experience at Caldwell. Today, we highlight Zac Driscoll from Western University. What have you learned? A memorable experience I had at Caldwell was the weekly Chairman meetings. I found during these meetings I was able to learn so much valuable knowledge that I can use to better myself, not only in the world of business, but also as a person. What was your most memorable experience at Caldwell? Something I learned during my time at Caldwell is how to improvise and find new ways to complete tasks. I found that the easiest or most obvious way isn’t always the best. Sometimes you need to think outside the box and do something you would have never thought of doing. By doing this you can find new creative ideas and help spark innovation and invention.

Having interns on your team is extremely rewarding. Three things I learned from Maggie Heymans this summer: 1️⃣ Review your processes. Nothing is more humbling then onboarding someone only to realize the way you've been doing things may not make the most sense. 2️⃣ Investing time in your team pays huge dividends. Sure, it's always easier and faster to complete tasks yourself, but being intentional about dedicating time to share knowledge will lead to a stronger, more efficient team you can grow to trust. 3️⃣ The future is bright! The professionals entering the workforce are both eager and grounded. Their fresh perspectives and willingness to learn will help them make an impact right away in their careers. Honestly, we all might need to step up to be ready for them!
🎉Exciting news! 🎉 I have officially wrapped up my internship at Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines as the Marketing & Analytics Intern. This summer has been such a fun and rewarding experience. A huge thank you to Sarah Bishop and the rest of the MarComm team for your mentorship and for providing me with such a well-rounded marketing experience. I am beyond excited to use these valuable skills and insights I have gained during my time at the Bank as I enter my senior year at Iowa State University.
