It’s Tank Trouble Tuesday! A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Ohio Valley region requested a TankCam inspection of a 6,000 gallon steel tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held diesel. The TankCam inspection revealed widespread corrosion. The lower half of the tank showed considerable sludge and debris build-up. After removing residual liquid from the tank, two points of ingress were found on the tank bottom. The TankCam inspection found swirling liquid and pooling and flowing of water, both signs of inflowing water. The tank held diesel. The customer also requested a TankClean Remote Video UST Cleaning. The TankCam inspection revealed a considerable buildup of sludge and debris in the tank. After the TankClean Remote Video UST Cleaning, the TankCam shows that the sludge and debris were removed. The tank was later placed back into service.
