It’s Tank Trouble Tuesday! A fueling facility in Tanknology’s Gulf Coast region requested a TankCam inspection of a 10,000 gallon fiberglass tank to inspect for undesirable conditions or abnormal operating conditions. The tank held super unleaded. The TankCam inspection revealed widespread flaking. Active dripping was observed coming from the fill riser and a crack was observed in the tank wall at the fill end of the tank. Another small crack was found in the tank wall near the center of the tank along with signs of liquid staining. The tank held premium unleaded. The customer also requested a TankClean Remote Video UST Cleaning. The TankCam inspection revealed a build up of residue and sludge on the bottom and sides of the tank. Debris was also found in the tank. After the TankClean Remote Video UST Cleaning, the TankCam shows that the sludge, residue and debris were removed and the tank was clean. The tank was later placed back into service. The tank held diesel. The TankCam inspection revealed a large amount of oxidation, corrosion, and residue in the tank. Drops were observed at each riser bung, and potential ingress sites were obscured by the accumulation of residue. The bottom tank was obscured by product. Eric Arnold has joined our team as Vice President of IT for D&H United. Eric is operationally oriented and will lead our group of IT professionals and managed services providers enterprise-wide. He brings over 25 years of experience and has built IT functions from the ground up in his prior roles. He was most recently in IT leadership roles with Venture Metals International and PhysAssist Scribes. Eric will be working with the existing team to reorganize the current IT function, focusing on Infrastructure/Security, Support, and the TANCS platform for our Compliance business. The Mercury ERP project will continue to report separately into the leadership steering committee. Welcome to the team, Eric!
