Veteran's Day is this Saturday, November 11th! Check out these terrific resources for helping to make your organization more veteran-inclusive and welcoming. And don’t forget, you can work to build greater veteran inclusion any time of year, not just on Veteran’s Day! Insights, misconceptions, and recommendations from SHRM on embracing veterans in your workplace: https://lnkd.in/eCqykTTH Promising practices that support Veterans in the workplace and include a specific focus on Veterans with mental health difficulties: https://lnkd.in/ePHSyXuc Understanding what veterans bring to the workforce and how to leverage the power of veterans for your organization from military.com: https://lnkd.in/eJQzW7Fp And lastly, here are four specific steps you and your organization can take to support veterans in the workplace: https://lnkd.in/eM_JBvtj Veterans Day originated as “Armistice Day” on Nov. 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926, making it an annual observance, and it became a national holiday in 1938. Sixteen years later, then-President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed legislation changing the name to Veterans Day to honor all those who served their country during war or peacetime. On this day, the nation honors military veterans — living and dead — with parades and other observances across the country and a ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. #VeteransDay2023 #VeteranInclusion #DiversityEquityInclusion #DEI #DEIA #DEIB #HelpingPeopleWorkBetterTogether #ManagingPeople #HumanResources #HR #Management #Leadership #EmployeeEngagement

Strategy & Transformation for Public Services & Partner Organisations | NED | RSA Fellow | Charity Trustee | Chartered Management Consultant | Recovering Politician
As we mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, we should reflect on its enduring legacy. This is likely to be the last ‘big’ commemoration as by the 90th anniversary, it’s unlikely any of the remaining veterans of Operation Overlord will be with us. The Normandy invasion on 6th June 1944 was the pivotal point in the ‘European Theatre of Operations’ in WWII. 150,000 Allied soldiers landed in France by sea and air to begin the liberation of Europe from the Nazis and reduce the pressure on the Russian Front. In the context of public services, the lessons of D-Day are particularly pertinent. Sectors such as healthcare, education and local public services are grappling with reduced budgets and increasing demand - an existential set of threats. The principles of teamwork and collaboration are essential as public service providers work together to deliver quality services under constrained resources. Leaders in public services must set the conditions for success by fostering a culture of innovation and adaptability, much like the approach Eisenhower took towards D-Day. The pressures on public services today require a strategic approach that prioritises impact. Combined Arms - Collaboration by Diverse Multidisciplinary Teams: The success of Operation Overlord depended on the cooperation of multiple Allied nations and branches of the Allied Armed Forces. The principle of ‘combined arms’ in the military, is about blending different capabilities to solve problems. The equivalent for modern public services leaders, is to ensure different types of professional with varied life experience, coming together to solve problems. Adaptability - Eisenhower's famous adage, "Planning is everything. The plan is nothing," has never been more relevant. We live in VUCA times. It’s impossible to eliminate the risks posed by the external environment but we can build organisations able to adapt. The role of the leader is to signal that ambiguity is OK. Assuming Responsibility and Setting the Conditions for Success - Eisenhower's willingness to take full responsibility for the invasion's outcome, regardless of its success or failure, exemplifies true leadership. Modern leaders have a responsibility to ‘set the conditions for success’ by providing teams with what they need whether that be finance, technology or psychological safety. That burden also means taking ultimate responsibility so teams can focus on their role getting stuff done. I’m interested in other lessons for public service leaders from D-Day. Please share your thoughts below. #DDay #healthcare #government #publicservices

About last night… Another fun evening mingling with veterans in the great City of San Antonio.🫡 It’s called MilCity USA for a reason. Gennaro "Pirate" Mazzeo 🏴☠️, Chris Manning (CNSS), and I got to hangout and talk a lot. These events are great networking opportunities, but also social interactions with friends. #milcitymeetup with Quincy D. Harper Sr. and LAURIE Pimentel-Johnson leading the charge last night was a great success. Sidenote: Dr. Damon Friedman I wore my Operation Red Belt and 💯 Sarah Smith-Barry said she wants one. 🙌 🇺🇸 #texas #networking #militarytransition #veterans The KEY Community

The Tägerwilen II report: 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗢 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 Background The Committee of the Chiefs of Military Medical Services (COMEDS) initiated the Prehospital Care Improvement Initiative Task Force (PHCII TF) to advise on how to improve prehospital care within NATO nations. The Task Force consisted of the NATO Military Health Care Working Group and its subordinated expert panels, including the Blood Panel, the Emergency Medicine Panel and the Special Operations Forces Medicine Panel. Method The PHCII TF identified four key prehospital care themes for exploration: 1) Tactical Casualty Care, 2) Blood Far Forward), 3) Forward Surgical Capabilities), and 4) Prolonged Casualty Care. A consensus experimentation workshop explored the four themes, utilizing a modified Delphi technique and Utstein rotations during syndicate work, resulting in 83 consensus statements. The consensus statements were further evaluated on six criteria: actionable, measurable, urgent, interoperability, low risk/threat and impact. Results The 83 consensus statements, when weighted against the six criteria, resulted in 15 recommendations, focusing on standardization of training, ensuring provision of evidence-based practices and removing legislative barriers to improve prehospital care. Conclusion The recommendations on these four themes reflect the most significant priorities in improving prehospital care, and must be incorporated in the on-going revision of NATO doctrine. If this video doesn’t pull your heart strings, I don’t know what will. LifeWave was honored by the Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) for work the company has done to help alleviate pain and suffering for Veterans. The MOPH is a wonderful organization composed of around 45,000 military men and women who received the Purple Heart Medal for wounds suffered in combat. The MOPH is devoted to fostering an environment of goodwill and camaraderie among combat wounded veterans, promoting patriotism, supporting necessary legislative initiatives, and most importantly, providing service to all Veterans and their families. LifeWave is proud to be recognized by such a profoundly important organization. Scientific evidence has shown that x39 patches stimulates the cellular regeneration rate and enhances immune system functioning by trigger production of the human peptide GHK. Increased levels of the peptide GHK includes benefits such as decreasing inflammation, increasing energy levels, increasing stress resilience, improving mental clarity, and reactivating your stem cells. God bless our veterans!!! We are thankful for Lifewave X39!! Changing lives one patch at a time!!
