What a good training motivating the African youth to be part of transitional justice to create the africa that we want with positive peace.
The 4th African Youth for Transitional Justice training kicked off yesterday here in Kampala. Some of the brightest minds from across the continent are together exploring and debating #TJ over three intensive days. The goal is to promote #youth participation in TJ policymaking by equipping a new cohort of changemakers with skills and knowledge to drive national and local TJ processes. At Impunity Watch, we're delighted to be supporting this important African Union initiative, renewing our commitment to the AU's youth strategies. #AY4TJ #transitionaljustice #youthparticipation

What we need now
Prolonged crises have a huge impact on children and their families, from an inability to access early childhood education, forced to leave their homes, to parents lacking the support they need. Our Parenting Under Pressure (PUP) program, supported by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade #ANCP, is a peer-to-peer program that aims to empower parents and caregivers to provide nurturing care that supports their children’s development during humanitarian crises. You can learn more about the program and watch how it's positively impacting families living in IDP camps in Myanmar: https://lnkd.in/gnnBzsNp Susanne Legena

They say children should be seen and not heard. They say you will understand when you are older. You are just a kid. How about you? What will you say? What can you do to protect children, to ensure their education, peace and change for children? Watch this video to know what children around the world want from you as adults, government and decision makers. The video is adapted from an original UNICEF Global video and aims to support the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Art, and Culture to motivate every adolescent and youth in Timor-Leste to have their voices heard and for them to participate in decision-making processes. The adaptation is made with the support from the Government of Australia @dfat.gov.au’s #ANCP in collaboration with UNICEF Timor-Leste. Co-chair, Liberia Coalition on Youth Peace and Security | Youth Peace and Security Practitioner | Changemaker | Young Peacebuilder | Mediator | Vice President for International Affairs Federation of Liberian Youth
On July 18th, I will serve as a Panelist for a webinar on "Developing National Action Plans (NAP) on Youth, Peace, and Security (YPS) in West Africa, the Role of Youth", alongside some of West Africa's finest and most experienced Youth Peace and Security Experts (Rafiu Adeniran Lawal, Issah Toha Shamsoo, Pa Bakary Sonko), including Simone Mbodé Diouf, African Union Youth Ambassador for Peace for West Africa. The webinar is organized by the GPPAC West Africa. As a major driver of the YPS Agenda in Liberia and Co-chair of the Liberia Coalition on YPS, I am happy to join other YPS professionals to discuss the role of young men and women in developing YPSNAPs in West Africa, as well as sharing the Liberian experience. In Liberia, we have successfully established and launched a National YPS Coalition and will begin to formulate/develop a National Action Plan on YPS in the coming weeks through regional consultations and validation. As we are succeeding in our advocacy to institutionalize the YPS Agenda in West Africa, I expect that the National Action Plans that will be developed in the region will not be abandoned, but rather be operationalized and implemented to enhance youth participation in formal and informal peace processes, and support youth-led peacebuilding initiatives. Mechanisms should be established to monitor and evaluate the implementation of the NAPs. This includes setting up indicators, collecting data, publishing regular reports on progress and challenges, and creating platforms for youth to provide feedback on the NAP implementation, ensuring their voices are heard and considered in policy adjustments, and finances are provided to support youth-led peacebuilding programs.
