🩸 Donate Blood, Save Lives 🩸
Join us in supporting the American Red Cross by donating blood to help those living with sickle cell disease. Your donation can provide life-saving transfusions to individuals who need it most. At Dallas County, we are committed to making a difference and standing by our community. Every drop counts—let’s come together to give the gift of life and hope. #BloodDonation#SickleCellAwareness#GiveBlood
I am excited that Dallas County will host a Red Cross blood drive next week in downtown #Dallas that will prioritize donations for #sicklecell patients. I look forward to making a donation! Please join us and make a donation if you’re nearby and are able. We will have free parking for donors. The Red Cross will provide gift cards and other goodies too! 2023!
What a year for The Lewis Foundation.
Financially was the hardest year ever for our charity, with the cost of everything rising.
We did not want to have to reduce our service or stop, which meant thinking outside the box and that led to 2 fantastic opportunities for us this year, which was our coffee shop at the Elgar Centre, Upton, Northampton and Outlet Store Grosvenor Shopping Northampton. This has been a brilliant way for us to not only raise awareness but also support us in becoming financially sustainable at a time where donations, fundraising and funding have declined.
We are grateful in a cost of living crisis, that we have been able to continue to provide our gift packs and support to cancer patients in hospital and the community for another year across the 17 hospitals that we support. We have worked really hard to maintain the average cost of a gift pack to £3.60.
We can't thank you all enough for the kindness and support you have all shown our charity. To our wonderful team, hospitals and members of the public - who have raised awareness, donated, raised funds, donated and gifted your time. We could not do this without you.
The Lewis Foundation is all about the community coming together to make a difference to the lives of others, to support someone even if they are a stranger. We are proud for another year we have been able to do just what.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year and wonderful 2024!

Did You Know???
CBCO annually supplies their 45 area hospitals with over 60,000 units of blood
It takes an average of 200 donations each operating day to meet local patient needs
Whole blood donors can give every 56 days (6 x yr) but CBCO’s average donor gives less than twice a year
Almost 40% of the population is eligible to give blood but only about 3% actually donate
Losing high school/college drives in the summer can lead to critical shortages which is why we rely heavily on community/event blood drives.
The community needs not only First Responders help but also your help with your donation of blood.

Why should you donate to Gold For Kids and not direct to children’s charities? This is such a great question, so let us explain.
We are drawing on untapped potential cash from dental clinics across the UK and we can raise so much more by enrolling dentists to donate their patients' unwanted crowns and bridge work and other dental restorations. These all contain precious metals which have a cash value. We also ask the public to donate their unwanted, old or broken gold jewellery for the same reason.
Dental practices can also suggest charities who are aligned with our mission to address child poverty in the UK, no matter the size, big or small, to apply for money from our grant funding.
By donating to Gold for Kids instead of to charities directly, we are able to make an even bigger impact to many more children who desperately need our help.
If you would like any other information or if you have a question to ask us, please email info@goldforkids.org. Thank you. 😀

For the 3rd year this September, I'm taking on the challenge to walk 10,000 steps every day to raise funds and awareness for people with cerebral palsy. STEPtember is an incredible initiative that helps fund life-changing research and support for those living with CP.
Every step I take is a step towards a better future for individuals with cerebral palsy. Your support can make a huge difference! 💚
Children with CP need events like this to raise money to ensure they feel included in their surroundings and not left behind. This is something I hold close to my heart.
**How You Can Help:**
1. Donate: Every contribution, big or small, helps us reach our goal.
2. Share: Spread the word by sharing this post with your friends and family.
3. Join: Sign up and take the challenge with me!
Together, we can make a positive impact. Let's step up for cerebral palsy!
