All behavior is communication.
THE MISBEHAVIOR of troubled children is seldom what it first appears to be. Understanding this, I believe, is the only place to start. No child has a need to create a life of conflict. -L. Tobin

To those on college campuses -- I keep in mind and heart those who want a homeland free of antisemitism. I also keep in mind and heart those tens of thousands of innocent people who have been killed and the hundreds of thousands at risk of being killed. I keep in mind and heart all who are standing up (and sitting down) for humanity and the potential for our collective, collaborative survival. Attached, please find a practice to remain committed to justice while refraining from causing harm. Be mindful to mitigate trauma -- yours and others. Be wise in knowing when your peaceful collective presence gets distorted into mobbery.

"Why don’t survivors tell? Because they have to immediately prove they aren’t lying." This statement captures a painful reality for many survivors of trauma. The burden of proof and fear of disbelief can create a paralysing barrier to sharing their experiences. Instead of asking why they don’t tell, it’s crucial to shift the narrative to provide reasons they should feel empowered to share: 1. **Belief and Support**: Survivors should be assured that they will be believed and supported when they come forward. Creating a culture where survivors are trusted encourages them to speak out. 2. **Validation of Experience**: Sharing their story can validate their experience, helping them process and heal from the trauma. It acknowledges their pain and acknowledges their truth. 3. **Access to Resources**: By speaking up, survivors can access critical support services, therapy, legal aid, and medical care. These resources can be pivotal in their healing journey. 4. **Prevention of Further Harm**: Speaking out can prevent the perpetrator from harming others. Reporting can lead to intervention, potentially saving others from similar experiences. 5. **Empowerment and Regaining Control**: It’s a reclaiming of power and control over their narrative and life. By telling their story, survivors assert themselves as more than victims; they are survivors with agency. 6. **Breaking the Silence**: Each survivor who speaks up contributes to breaking the silence around these issues. This can inspire others to come forward and contribute to broader societal change. 7. **Advocacy for Change**: Sharing their experience can advocate for policy changes, better education, and improved support systems for survivors. 8. **Community and Solidarity**: By speaking out, survivors can find a community of others who have shared similar experiences. This sense of solidarity can be incredibly healing. 9. **Setting Boundaries**: It allows survivors to set boundaries and assert what is acceptable treatment. It sends a message that certain behaviours are not tolerated. 10. **Education and Awareness**: Sharing personal stories can educate others about the realities of trauma and its effects. This can lead to greater empathy and understanding. Ultimately, it’s about creating an environment where survivors are not re-traumatised by disbelief or judgement, but instead are encouraged, supported, and given every reason to speak their truth. #MTICBIAI #MyTraumaIsChronicButIAmIconic #BelieveSurvivors #EmpowermentThroughStory #EndTheSilence #BreakTheCycle #SupportSurvivors #HealingJourney #SpeakYourTruth #TraumaAwareness #CommunitySupport #AdvocateForChange #SolidarityInHealing #NoMoreVictimBlaming #SafeSpacesForSurvivors #EmpathyAndUnderstanding #StrengthInSharing

Children Learn What They Live.-If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn. If children live with hostility, they learn to fight. If children live with ridicule, they learn to be shy. If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty. If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence. If children live with tolerance, they learn to be patient. If children live with praise, they learn to appreciate it. If children live with acceptance, they learn to love. If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves. If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness. If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and others. If children live with friendliness, they learn the world is a nice place in which to live. -By Dorothy Law Nolte. PRAY FOR OUR CHILDREN. DIVINE WORDS BY DIANE Diane Hemphill Moseley

Millions of kids (even as young as 3) have been exposed to harmful images. This interrupts our kids ability to thrive and achieve their goals! So how do we as parents come alongside our kids and be the hero of the story? Here are 3 steps you can take to maintain good communication, develop a stronger bond and increase trust in even with a hard topic like this: 1.Stay Calm: How you respond will determine whether or not they ever share anything with you again. They already feel upset or embarrassed, so your calm response (even if you're freaking out on the inside!) will let your kids know that you are on their side. 2.Listen: The most effective form of communication is listening, giving your child the space to express how they're feeling so they can tell you what happened. 3. Provide Support: Praise your child! They just came to you with something big and hard to talk about! Legal action might need to be taken... if you need help, go www.poweroverpredators.org to find free resources and helpful tools.
