🍦 **Ice Cream Social Extravaganza!** 🍦 🎉 Today, Marina Mechanical Services turned the mundane into the magical with our delightful Ice Cream Social to celebrate Admin Professionals Day. 🎈All were invited, from the office to the shop, and it proved to be a great little break. Here's a scoop (pun intended!) on the frosty festivities: Tillamook Ice Cream: Our star attraction was none other than Tillamook Ice Cream. We had flavors that could make your taste buds do the cha-cha: from classic vanilla to cookies and cream, and everything in between. 🍨 Fixin's Galore: Toppings, toppings, and more toppings! Girl Scout Thin Mint sprinkles, chocolate and caramel sauces, rainbow gummy bears, and even unicorn glitter (okay, maybe not the last one, but we can dream). Our ice cream was dressed to impress! 🌈 Remember, dear admins, you're the glue that holds this office together. Precision is everything in accounting so this did make me chuckle in the office! We have this lying in the kitchen for a bit of a clear the head while brewing the cuppa. It’s not something we do much of at any one time but certainly for me, over the last month while musing and brewing I’ve had clarity on a few things. It does seem like the sky is proving tricky but the regimental layout of the pieces made me pause yesterday Just like work, cracking on with no plan was fine to get going, but now, as things get closer to the end (or in work/life case the Christmas break) the planning and strategy to get stuff done becomes ever more important So, no idea who did this but they have made the chances of finishing significantly greater by this bit of planning Anonymous jigsaw colleagues- I salute you! Being married to a #csuite leader Richard Montiel of Southland SOD farms has been fascinating when it comes to learning how leadership can show gratitude within a company, even through the toughest of times. The #agriculture industry requires extra doses of flexibility and adaptability as the market can change as quickly as the weather (quite literally!). Witnessing Richard in full innovation mode to ensure his people stay employed during the #pandemic and California #watercrisis (that has lasted years!) has been extraordinary, especially hearing about the many companies that had to make significant cuts and even close down. Particularly, on this day of #Thanksgiving, I want to highlight Richard's efforts of showing gratitude through creativity and play. Southland is not about “doing it their way” when it comes to their people. Listening to staff, engaging them in problem-solving, and creating ways where they are seen, heard, and valued led to rituals that welcomed play and celebration. And not just for the big things.
