Golf is a great re-trainer for me when it comes to sales. Here’s a massive sand dune the golf course designer has decided to place in front of our tee. Not to dissimilar to a buyer throwing out an 11th hour obstacle that try’s to derail the deal. My theory is sometimes the sale wants you to go the long way round so you can actually learn something to help you sell higher volume in the future. #sales #salestraining #salespeople #referal #referrals #refer #salesconsultant #salescoaching #salesleader #salesleaders #salesleadership #realestateagent #selling #agent #realestate #property

You might not be interested in golf, but it's worth learning. Every sales book emphasizes the importance of building relationships with customers, and what better way than spending 4 to 6 hours with them one-on-one? Ideally, it will be closer to four hours so you don't hold up the pace. During this time, your customer will get to know you well, helping to strengthen your relationship. People often don't mention that golf is relatively easy to learn but extremely challenging to master. Don't worry, 99% of golfers are in the bottom 85%, so just get out and hit the range. Always a lot of time to talk shop as well. PS: always admit that you stink unless you are a pro play like Pat Martin Taylor Dean or Ricky Duddy. #freight #golf #customer This was at IANA at Long Beach if you were wondering

How golf has prepared me for sales... (and life) Growing up golfing as much as I could - it took time to understand how the skills I was working so hard to develop would matter to the world anywhere outside of the course. Come to realize.. dang... there is something here. Etiquette & professionalism...sure. But there's more to it... 1. Golf teaches me to FOCUS - one shot at a time --> Do not be clouded with thoughts of the next hole, or the last shank --> I never get a chance at the same shot twice, make each one count --> With ADHD, it trains my brain to find a quite space when executing a task 2. Golf is challenging, demanding... hard --> Trains a sense of perseverance when the round does not start well --> I rarely execute EXACTLY what I wanted in a shot - but I have to live with the result, and continue on 3. Play YOUR swing --> I have to find what works for ME -- Not what works for Tiger Woods (Or DeChambeau...) --> I love to learn and hear tips from the best, but have to continue to learn how to receive the advice without breaking my swing Golfers - How have you seen the game impact you outside of the course?

I have a golf coach. He’s the perfect blend of instruction and “figure it out yourself”. I need to drill down his tips until it become automatic. So, I record my golf swings. Sometimes I send them to him. Most of the time I can see what’s wrong. Many of my ZG Group clients send me recorded phone calls from the sales department. Golf and sales are oddly similar. It’s important not to overreact to one swing. It’s important not to overreact to one phone call. You are rarely perfect. Even if we obtain the desired result, work still needs to be done. Listen to phone calls from your sales team. It’s an easy path to long-term growth.

What do golf and sales have in common? Failing, and losing, a lot. I had a rough round over the weekend (if you’d like to know how rough, DM me and I’ll share my score 🤫) However, I know I’ll be back out as soon as the next opportunity presents itself. The same goes with sales. Sometimes it’s an 85, sometimes a 101. You’ll have a a bad hour of dials, you’ll call someone the wrong name, you’ll definitely leave some really bad voicemails. But the next call will bring in a new opportunity. Sometimes I shank one into the water, drop a ball, and put it right at the pin. With both golf and sales, the only thing that matters is that you keep swinging. #Sales #Golf #failure #thoughtsfromscott

Golf and Sales, very similar. Take a 2 minutes to listen to Brian Burns break down what it takes to be good at sales. Quick summary, it takes practice, repetition, and feedback. Knowledge is Power.
JUST LIKE GOLF SALES LOOKS SIMPLE - ALL YOU DO IS ASK AND ANSWER QUESTIONS AND THE ORDERS JUST FLOW IN... THE MAJOR DIFFERENT BETWEEN GOLF AND SALES IS THAT IF A GOLFER TELLS YOU THEY ARE GREAT, ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS ASK THEIR SCORE... #SALES

🔄 Sharing this brilliant analogy on sales and golf! ⛳️ Sales might look easy at first glance, but mastering it is a whole different ball game. Just like in golf, you can pick up the basics quickly, but it takes years of practice to even reach a decent level. The real challenge is learning from each swing (or deal!) and constantly refining your approach. Patience, persistence, and adaptability are key. What’s your biggest takeaway in the pursuit of mastering (complex) sales? #SalesMastery #KeepImproving #SalesSkills #GrowthMindset #SalesChallenge #MasterComplexSales
