I heard an extremely interesting observation by a senior leader in education last week. They said that they had been "sleepwalking through (their) leadership by playing the old role". It got me thinking about the need to boldly carry our values and skills into our leadership, but remain responsive and reflective enough to situate ourselves within new contexts and develop new skills and establish new values when required.
