Pharmaceutical Science Graduate | University Of Salford | Searching for opportunities to be involved in cutting-edge research on the effects of pharmaceutical development on human life
OCCA Career Event As a third year pharmaceutical science student at the Univertsy of Salford I was able to have the opportunity to attend a talk hosted by OCCA which had various panelist’s from whom shed light on the career paths of their team members, from their early beginnings to their current positions. During the talk each individual would describe how their career transformation took off and the early days of exploration to their current positions which showed that in the science industry in particular the chemical industry was very adaptable in regards to career progression. The industry professionals each shared their unique career projection, from the early days of exploration to their current positions thus showing the adaptability in the science industry. For instance Suraj, an account manager at BASF reiterated the points about the importance of customer relationships and sustainability initiatives and how his role plays a crucial role in the sustainability in developing global commerce. Furthermore there were speakers like Isla who studied biochemistry at the university of Salford and can relate to the students on the course and she discussed how she would oversee paint products and is current research and development colour technologist. Once the presentations had taken place then individually each of the industry professionals from OCCA would sit down and engage with our groups and began discussions thus allowing myself the opportunity to ask questions about a potential future in the chemical industry. In conclusion this inspired and further encouraged myself to explore various diverse career paths and to embrace opportunities for personal and professional development. I look forward to contributing positively to the pharmaceutical industry through discovery and potential growth.
