My piece “Inexorable dance” was premiered in the end of September 2023 at the Great hall of Moscow conservatory. The phrase “Inexorable Dance” allows, from my point of view, only one interpretation: this is a dance of death, one of the eternal themes in art in general and in music in particular. Suffice it to recall Liszt, Saint-Saëns, Mussorgsky, Shostakovich... But everyone reveals this topic in their own way, and we are talking not so much about tonal systems, sets of expressive means and special newest techniques, but about concepts that express understanding and attitude to the topic. My concept is very different from traditional ones. The special tonal system developed for this piece produces many allusions to well-known symbolic motifs and to dance rhythms that are popular today and have become quite annoying. https://lnkd.in/eM3AvNDu

Economic Growth’s Rhythmic Derivative On April 29th, we celebrate International Dance Day, initiated by the Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute ITI, a key partner of UNESCO in the performing arts. Since its inception in 1982, the International Dance Committee and ITI have annually chosen a prominent dance figure to offer a message for International Dance Day. This day serves as a celebration for those who appreciate the value and significance of the art of dance. It also serves as a reminder for governments, politicians, and institutions to recognize its potential for economic growth. Duty of memory – Debate: the sources of music and musical instruments in the history of humanity, (if in general, the music associated with so-called Arab culture is, neither more nor less, than a musical style stolen from ancient Africa as is also the case with the music of all those who sought to dominate people of Black/African origin and who, ultimately, have always been fascinated, admired, even obsessed by the Black/African musical genius); « (From the xylophone to the violin, cello and piano, including the harp, the lyre, the guitar, the trumpet, the saxophone, the flute and other musical instruments), everything comes from ancient Africa » « The debate is open ! » Most modern or ancient and modernized musical instruments have their prototypes among ancient Blacks/Africans. For example, the Piano is simply a more sophisticated adaptation of the xylophone, as there are xylophones designed to resemble the piano keyboard (based on Black and White keys). Isn’t the xylophone African? It is very present in a lot of culture and music in Black or sub-Saharan Africa.

Moreška, is a traditional sword dance originating from Korčula, a town on the Croatian island of the same name in the Adriatic. This centuries-old performance features two groups of dancers engaged in a choreographed battle over the destiny of a veiled young woman. Initially reserved for special events, the Moreška is now performed weekly for tourists. The dance historically depicted a conflict between Moors and Christians, reminiscent of the Spanish Reconquista battles during the Middle Ages. However, in the 19th century, the sides in Korčula transitioned to Croats versus Moors, or simply identified as "White" and "Black," with the non-Moor faction emerging as the victor. History: The Moreška in Korčula can be traced back to at least the mid-17th century, with its origins rooted in the Middle Ages and the prolonged clashes between Muslims and Christians (Moros y cristianos) in Spain. Catalonia, in particular, has a traditional dance known as La Morisca de Gerri de la Sal, which dates back to the Reconquista era. Numerous European festivals and events have their foundations in this historical period. By the 16th century, the concept of mock battles with a conquest theme spread to the Americas and other regions under Spanish influence. The rendition performed in Korčula is unique in modern times for its use of soldiers (Moreškanti) wielding two swords each during the elaborate dance battles.

Dance is Design, too. I started to dance better thanks to Design System Thinking and Motion Design principles. Further, there is a field called Stage Design.
