We had the good fortune of sharing few of our SJK Architects works with Pritzker Laureate Peter Zumpthor last week while he visited our office. It was heartening to witness this humble soul, a man of few words and his child-like inquisitiveness 🌸 He was eager to know about the design choices we adopt through the creation of a project and what governs those choices and why do we choose to do so? We were short on time but the biggest question I had for Mr. Zumpthor is “How does he manage to bring in sheer beauty, simplicity and empathy in all his works”? I have personally been inspired by his architecture and some of my favourites are the Kolumba Kunstmuseum des Erzbistums Köln Museum at Cologne. His buildings have a beautiful silence that attributes to warmth, a sense of presence, composure, sensuousness and tactility that truly awakens a sensorial experience with a deeper meaning through its utter simplicity & calmness.
