What if Generative AI music tools could let you sample yourself and then fill in the rest of your music? Well, with Suno's new Extend feature... you can. We at AI For Humans we got an early look at this feature and it kind of blew us away. Kevin was able to take an old snippet of himself in GarageBand and hear what it would be like to have a full band take his drum track and fill it out. At first glance, it's really remarkable. Then, when you think about what happens next, when AI can create just sing stems or other advances you can see how this tool really could unlock and create so many new musicians. Overall, just really super cool. #ai #aimusic #generativeAI

Very interesting article that I found today. Famous DJ and producer Steve Aoki commented on his use of AI, and how it can impact the music industry going forward. He said that he only uses AI to come up with lyrics, which I think is fascinating. David Philp, I think you would find this interesting! Check it out!

Music has always been a welcoming haven for creativity, expression, and innovation, largely due to its reliance on genuine human input. However, with the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI), a new dimension has been added to the world of composition which does not at all require such involvement – AI-generated music. As technology continues to evolve, the intersection between human creativity and artificial intelligence raises intriguing questions about the role of AI in the creative process. In this article below, we explore the impact of AI-generated music on musical creativity, examining both the benefits and challenges it poses to the traditional notion of artistic expression. MUSICIANS VS. AI: A TUNE OF CAUTION AND CREATIVITY In what seems like an unexpected ensemble, legends like #BillieEilish, #JaRule, #StevieWonder, and #MacDeMarco have come together, not for a blockbuster hit, but to voice a critical concern. Nearly 40 years after "We Are the World," these artists are harmonizing a new message: "Hey, AI folks, proceed with caution." Over 200 prominent musicians have signed a letter urging AI companies to tread carefully. It's a complex message that balances the potential of AI to push human creativity with firm opposition to any tech that undermines human artistry or financial stability. THE SPOTLIGHT ON SUNO AI Suno AI, a leading AI music company, is in the spotlight. It crafts complete musical pieces from simple prompts, a feat that blurs the lines between innovation and infringement, especially when outputs eerily mimic copyrighted materials. This raises ethical dilemmas about AI's training on unlicensed works. LOOKING AHEAD: THE LEGAL AND CREATIVE LANDSCAPE Why it matters: Beyond Suno AI's practices, the broader discourse anticipates a surge in legal battles intertwining AI and music. As history has shown with AI art, these confrontations will likely stretch over the years. While the buzz around AI music is growing, its place in our playlists remains to be determined. No AI rendition has yet to dethrone the classics, nor has it found a regular spot in our musical diets. On a funny note, the message comes simultaneously as Stability AI has released Stable Audion 2.0 - able to produce 3 minutes-long high-quality (44.1 kHz stereo), full tracks with coherent music from a single prompt. #MusicIndustry #AIMusic #CreativeEthics #TechnologyTrends https://lnkd.in/dy7dSuWe

🎵 💡 🎹 New Music AI article: I had a great conversation with Rohan Paul about Controlla. He truly embodies the entrepreneurial spirit and has a fantastic approach centered around making the experience fun while building his product and community in the Music AI space. "If there's anything I'd want people to know about Controlla, it's that we are trying to create ways for AI to pay humans, not humans to pay AI. And so we believe that AI should be unlocking new fun stuff for us to do that creates value rather than taking all the fun stuff away from us." People will always want to sing, and I see this tool evolving to play a vital role in the future of music creation and consumption. 👇🏿Check out the article linked in the comments and share your thoughts!
