QLD Business Development Manager | Green By Nature Group ANZ & President of the Sports Turf Association of Qld
With 10 Million individual taxpayers in our country, not including businesses, imagine the impactful change we could create by each contributing just $2 per week to a registered charity. This simple act would amount to $1,040,000,000 annually, matched as a tax deduction by the ATO. By pooling our resources to one overarching charity, we could have $2,849,315.07 daily to support causes like disease research, homelessness prevention, and infrastructure repair. Australia, the power is in our hands to make a significant difference beyond what our elected officials can achieve. It's time to take control and work together for a better future. #CommunityImpact #ChangeMakers

Here are 5 money tips for election season: ⏰ DON'T TIME THE MARKET Election seasons often bring market volatility, but trying to time the market can lead to costly mistakes. 😣 🫱🏼🫲🏽 SUPPORT LOCAL CHARITIES Rather than focusing ONLY on political donations to national campaigns, consider donating to local charities tackling issues important to your community. ❤️ 📝 STICK TO YOUR BUDGET Election season can affect how you feel about spending, but don’t let the news cycle or political rhetoric derail your budget. ❌ DON'T BUY INTO THE HYPE 🙅🏼♀️Avoid making significant financial decisions based on campaign promises or expected election outcomes. 💪🏻 BUILD YOUR EMERGENCY FUND Ensure your emergency fund is well-stocked to provide peace of mind and security when changes occur. 💰 Above all, focus your energy on the financial factors that are within your control! 😌 #moneymaven #masteryourmoney #bellinghamwa #electionseason #vote #financialplanning #bellinghamadvisor

As is article highlights, those without children often leave their estates to select individuals or charities. This creates the potential for their “intestate hiers”, meaning those that would inherit if they didn’t have a will, to bring a will contest and challenge the will. This can be easily avoided by using a revocable trust in place of a will. This is a good reminder to make sure clients that do not have children have a fully funded revocable trust.

Research out of Yale shows people without children plan to leave significantly more of their estates to charity compared to those with descendants. How might we better engage this growing group? Maybe it’s time for fundraisers to host more events for childless cat people. 😻 “People with no children say they want to leave a greater share of their estates to charity, friends and extended family, according to research by two Yale law professors that surveyed 9,000 U.S. adults. … In the Yale study, people without descendants—children or grandchildren—intended to give 10% of their estates to charity, on average, more than triple the intended amount of those with descendants.” https://lnkd.in/gbcdzjch

Alumni Manager at Camden Giving | SOAS International Postgraduate Scholar | Social Impact & Development | Gender & Cultural Studies | Ethnomusicology | Diaspora Studies
Camden is a vibrant, multicultural borough, with 45.4% of Camden residents born outside the UK, contributing to its rich diversity, albeit with significant socio-economic challenges: - At 41%, Camden has the second-highest poverty rate in London. - Camden faces the worst housing affordability in the capital. - London’s Black and Asian communities have been disproportionately affected by the cost-of-living crisis. - Over 2 in 5 Bangladeshis and nearly 1 in 3 Black Londoners live in overcrowded housing conditions in Camden, which is considerably higher than the UK average. - There has been a 39% rise in hate crimes all over London in 2023 compared to 2022. Our incredible community researchers are examining the impact of structural racism on housing, education, employment, and safety across the borough. Findings from our research will inform policy recommendations aimed at key development areas, such as enhancing community infrastructure, improving educational quality with better cultural training and diverse curriculum design, and fostering pathways to employment through collaboration with local businesses. Join us in working to address and dismantle racial inequalities in Camden, and creating more just and inclusive communities for all!
