This week, one of our most popular news articles is about Nigeria’s Air Peace, which would like to cooperate with Norse Atlantic Airways to launch flights from Lagos to London Gatwick as they struggle to secure their slots. We thought it would be interesting to compare them to each other in this graph. Norse Atlantic Airways holds 44 weekly slots at London Gatwick for the Summer 2024 season, utilising 32 so far. Air Peace was authorised to operate in the UK in November 2023 but has yet to secure market access. It operates one Boeing B777-200ER and two Boeing B777-300s, as well as a fleet of narrowbody and regional aircraft unable to reach the UK non-stop, including seven Boeing B737-300s, six Boeing B737-500s, one Do328-300, eight Embraer E145s, and five Embraer E195-E2s. It has a firm order for five Embraer E175s, ten Boeing B737-8s, and eight more Embraer E195-E2s. Norse Atlantic Airways didn't respond to ch-aviation's query about leasing or trading its slots to Air Peace. Norse Atlantic Airways's Senior VP (Communications), Philip Allport, said the airlines only had "an initial informal meeting" regarding the potential cooperation. #chaviation #aviationnews #norseatlantic #airpeace #boeing #embraer #gatwick Norse Atlantic Airways Air Peace London Gatwick Boeing Embraer Philip Allport Bjorn Tore Larsen Thom-Arne Norheim Bård Nordhagen Barr Allen Onyema Toyin Olajide

What makes Austria so attractive to register aircraft? It’s not the cost - ch-aviation interviewees from the #businessaviation sector are unanimous that the professionalism of Austro Control and years of expertise make the country particularly appealing. I met with some important players in the market in Vienna the other day - report soon coming back to the expanding ch-aviation business aviation section.

At the end of April, the New Trends in Civil Aviation 2024 (NTCA) conference was held in Prague ✈️. This was already the 24th year of a series of conferences organised by the Department of Air Transport of Fakulta dopravní ČVUT v Praze 🎓. The objective of these conferences is to provide a platform where members of communities interested in air transport operations and applications are able to interact. The conferences are designed for both specialists from practice and academics and serve as a forum for exchange of opinions and experience regarding technology, methodology, applications, and case studies as well as real cases in both civil and military aviation. NTCA originally used to focus on the Central European region, especially the Czech Republic and Slovakia, only but has gradually attracted the attention of other countries around the world. Czech Airlines Technics was the silver partner of the conference with Aneta Komárková, Ondřej Trčka, Hubert Pikl, and Lubos Pirek present on behalf of the company. #CSAT #pragueairport #aircraftmaintenance #maintenance #aviation
