Last #WorldMentalHealthDay, we pledged to introduce mental health first aid practitioners across our workforce. One year on, we have delivered on training 150 mental health first aiders, alongside 80 suicide intervention officers. For Donna Carter, who spearheaded the scheme at London Gatwick, it was important to recruit colleagues who shared her passion to support staff, passengers and our airport community. We're not stopping there, we are training a further 100 mental health first aiders next month to join our growing network of mental health support for people working at, visiting, or travelling through the airport. Today and every day, we're working to break the stigma around mental health and create a safer airport for everyone. 💚

Following the conclusion of the #LabourPartyConference, I wanted to share an article I had published for the conference edition of The House Magazine. I really enjoyed connecting with so many people at the conference over the last few days. We had some great discussions about how London Gatwick's plans to invest in infrastructure, businesses, communities and decarbonisation support the Government's ambitions on economic growth, clean energy and creating more opportunities for all.   You can read the article in the House Magazine here: https://lnkd.in/eJfm42kq

Growing together. 🤝 At the BusinessLDN London reception at #LabourPartyConference, Sam Fulton shared our bold growth plans for London Gatwick, and attendees also heard from Rob Heasman, CEO of The Earls Court Development Company and Howard Dawber, Deputy Mayor of London for Business and Growth. The key takeaway? Removing barriers to economic growth is crucial and the private sector has a vital role to play in driving the economy forward and creating jobs.
