David Ewald’s Post

April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, reminding us of the importance of road safety and responsible driving. In 2021 (most recent data) there were 3,522 people killed and an estimated additional 362,415 people injured in motor vehicle traffic crashes involving distracted drivers. As leaders, we prioritize the well-being of our staff and their families. Road safety plays a vital role in protecting our staff and our communities. Distracted driving, including texting, calling, or eating while driving, significantly increases the risk of accidents and injuries. Let’s all commit to maintaining focus on the road, not just for our safety but for the safety of everyone around us. Together, we can make a difference and contribute to reducing the hazards associated with distracted driving. Let's lead by example, promoting a culture of safety and responsibility both within and beyond our organizations!

A friend of ours lost her father to a distracted driver. The driver was found to have been on his phone checking FaceBook. His irresponsible behavior cost her her father and her daughters their grandfather.

That’s so true. One cannot drive anywhere without seeing distracted drivers. Thank you for highlighting this!
