SeaWorld accused of deceptively charging 5% fee on visitors’ receipts “Complaints about SeaWorld’s 5% fee occasionally popped up in online forums. Now there's a lawsuit.” So I haven't heard much about this - how widespread are these complaints? Is this something that is going to turn out to have merit? Or is this baseless? https://lnkd.in/e23n74yk #letsmakeplans #themedentertainment #themeparks #seaworld #unitedparks
SeaWorld has been quietly jacking prices and hidden, sneaky fees into things for a while now. It’s disappointing. The place is not a shell of what it once was. The current entertainment offerings are lousy, the team is crumbling and they’ve had about a dozen high ranking leaders leave in the last 6 months. More to come. They need an identity and leadership soon.
The fan group I run about the park hates the fee but most people go often enough to know about it

4dAs much as I absolutely despise the 5% fee (my thought is if you’re going to charge it, just put it in the price and be done with it.) it’s not done deceptively… They have signs at every register and on every pricing board noting that there is a 5% surcharge added to all purchases and on all food items. Just because somebody is paying attention and reading signage that is right there in your face at every single register is not SeaWorld’s fault.
