Social Impact Communications Entrepreneur Striving To Heal Our Planet And Our People With Words And Action
I AM ENOUGH YOU ARE ENOUGH WE ARE ENOUGH I am truly feeling these words/phrases after organizing and running my Second Annual YOU ARE ENOUGH 5K this past Sunday on May 5th. The work I have done and am doing around the YOU ARE ENOUGH movement is settling in. The 5K was a major success with the attendance doubling since last year. The community support was heartfelt and generous as far as funding and manpower goes. And, most importantly, I could not have scaled the event as much as I did without the grant I received from the LA County Department of Mental Health and for its #TakeActionLA initiative. Their scope of reach is amazing and their PR arm no doubt helped me with the increase in my number of 5K participants. I also am taking a little credit with my PR, fundraising, sales, and community relations skills I have acquired after all of these years! I learned a lot this second time around and with a bigger budget I also had more stress. However, it was good stress! I also learned about myself and how much I love running my non-profit, Giving Purpose Organization, and how the flagship campaign, YOU ARE ENOUGH, has the legs and heart it needs to grow and continue on to reach more people throughout the nation. My sponsors were also amazing with names like #murad #hammitt #skechers #kinecta #lacountydepartmentofmentalhealth #Kiwanis and more! With the help of these organizations I was able to put on a successful 5K, run pre-event wellness sessions that brought business/awareness to wellness practitioners, and planned co- mental health awareness days with multiple vendors. And, what I am most excited about is that with the grant I was able to get 10 billboards up in LA County, one of them being the first Spanish billboard! It is beautiful to see how people and communities are coming together to help people feel worthy, seen, and supported. The energy at the event was all about love, smiles and hugs. Thank you LinkedIn friends for supporting me on this journey as I try to figure out how I can run this full-time. I know I will make it work and I know I will reach more communities with these three powerful, supportive, and healing words! #youareenough💙 If you would like to check out photos of the event, you can check the link below. https://lnkd.in/gS8N5tBK For more information on what I am up to and how I would like to move forward with the non-profit and movement, please visit Giving Purpose Organization. #mentalhealthmatters #peacewithin #worthy #youarenotalone #community #5K #depressionisreal #purpose #causeandeffect #nonprofit

We all know that true effectiveness stems from a healthy balance of work and wellness. That’s why we offer all employees our #ZenPerks. 🟣✨ But it’s not just about the Zenefits - it’s about how we use them to cultivate a supportive and enthusiastic workplace. We talk a lot about work/life balance in the modern world, but to achieve this, we must collectively advance beyond the basics with initiatives that enrich both professional and personal lives. Experienced Outdoor Events Professional | Advocate for creating a positive impact | Working for a Certified B Corp | Lover of the great Outdoors
🌟 Celebrating a Year of Impact! 🌟 Another 12 months around the sun as a B Corp and I’m thrilled to announce the launch of our Annual B Corp Impact Report! 📊🌍 Here are the highlights that defined our year: 1. Investing in Wellbeing: a successful team creates a successful event! We’ve prioritised our wellbeing by introducing 121 coaching sessions led by the AMAZING Joanna Dew. These personalised sessions empower our team members to thrive, both personally and professionally. 🌿 2. Sustainable choices: from the project’s inception, we’ve encouraged our clients to explore sustainable options. By integrating these practices early on, we can explore ways to leave more of a positive impact on the environments we work in and a more resilient world. 🌎 3. Growing Together: this year, we welcomed five new team members to Gladiator Events, bringing our steadily growing HQ to a small but mighty eight! 🚀 4. Community Outreach: we’re committed to giving back. Our outreach and engagement work with a Teach First school in North London provided insights into outdoor sports events, B Corp principles, and the charity sector for sixty GCSE students. It’s about inspiring the next generation and fostering meaningful connections. 🌟 As we celebrate our achievements, let’s also set our sights on the future. Our ambitions are bold, and we’re ready to make an even greater impact. Here’s to the next journey around the sun! 🌈✨ #Bcorp #purposedriven #charityevents https://lnkd.in/eZu5mpMn

Two chapters into this book and I already believe it'll transform the way I think about business 💡 I've always struggled with the place of wellness, society and the natural world when it comes to business objectives. How do we ever put the environment first when every transaction is a measurement of cost or saving? We regularly say/hear things like: 👍 We want to do more for charity 👍 We want to support the environment 👍 We want to be more inclusive and diverse Which is great. Yet the key metrics we all subscribe to are growth, revenue and profit. What if constant growth wasn't the answer? What if success was a combination of: 👊 Being profitable 👊 Replenishing natural resources 👊 Helping look after everyone in society 👊 Having lower and upper boundaries of pay to ensure everyone is well looked after but minimising the gap between the top and the bottom What would it look like if we measured business differently? 🤔 #donuteconomics #csr #businessgoals

As an event planner, maximizing your client's budget doesn't mean nice dinners and fancy drinks—it means investing in experiences that make a difference. The event planners I work with tell me their biggest challenge is using their client's budgets for team meetings. After all, it can be difficult to justify spending thousands of dollars on fun and entertainment. But what if that investment could include a donation to local underprivileged children? I've hosted hundreds of charity team building events for large corporations and Fortune 500 companies, and I can assure you: Nothing will make your client's team meetings more memorable than tying their budget to a meaningful cause! Liberty Bank, one of my favorite clients, is a perfect example. Their slogan is "Be Community Kind," and boy, are they ever! This organization pours kindness into their towns and community, with programs that help people with home ownership, education, and life skills. Last Fall, they brought together 750 employees to put on a Build-A-Bike® for their All-Hands Meeting—building 100 bikes in total, and I’m so excited for their next meeting! And thanks to their relationship with the Boys & Girls Club in CT, Liberty Bank was able to gift the bikes to underprivileged children in clubs all across the state. So if you represent a corporation committed to fulfilling its social responsibility, there's so much opportunity in building relationships with local non-profits... The ripple effect of your good deeds on the community will be immeasurable! -- If you're an event planner, comment below with the bike emoji 🚲 I'll DM you a list of my favorite charity team building events perfect for any team meeting. #buildabike #teambuilding #meetingplanner The Leaders Institute

VIDEO RELEASE! Inaugural I Matter Shines Light Gala Credit to the highly recommended Daniel Sheppard 'I Matter Shines Light' was created to stand out among other cause awareness events. What sets it apart is the unique approach of choosing a different cause to highlight each year. While all causes are significant, the goal is to highlight those that require more awareness, thereby fostering generosity and providing a platform for voices to be heard, creating new connections and sustained support. I decided to support the incredible organization... 360°kids Cytrine, my company, was established with the mission to educate and advocate. One of the pillars is my Empowerment Platform, "I Matter," through which I provide mentorship and emphasize the importance of self-prioritization, empowering individuals to support themselves and others in life - wellness - career. I took a leap of faith, trusting in my ability to single-handedly undertake this significant event. Regardless of the challenges I encountered, I persevered, focusing on the fundamental goal of helping those in need, which fueled my motivation. If my guests leave having learned more than when they arrived, then I have accomplished my goal. This is my authentic story, hoping it brings inspiration and guidance to simply support others, believe in yourself and do great work. I am grateful for such an unforgettable and successful evening. Stay tuned for cheque presentation highlights. ENJOY! In his book Unreasonable Hospitality, Will Guidara reflects on the wisdom of Danny Meyer, the innovative author of Setting the Table. Guidara emphasizes Meyer’s key teaching: "Make the charitable assumption"—meaning, assume the best of your coworkers, even when their actions seem out of character. Meyer extends this principle to guests, encouraging us to pause before jumping to conclusions about how their behavior impacts the team. Application: We often expect others to behave in line with consistent norms, but life is fragile and unpredictable. You never know what someone might be going through. When team members or guests act in ways that seem discourteous or difficult, it’s possible they need more compassion and understanding than anyone else around them. Instead of reacting with frustration, practice kindness by offering help, like saying, “I noticed this was missed—can I assist you?” or “You seemed a bit late today—is everything okay?” As challenges arise today, remember to make the charitable assumption—you may be offering exactly what they need in that moment.
