My biggest takeaways from leading comms at Peacock … ✨There’s more to life than climbing the proverbial ladder ✨It’s possible to have a career outside of corporate spaces you’ve always known (that one took me a year to accept and I’m writing a book to share the journey) ✨I love building. People, departments, campaigns, story It’s all led me to launching my own consulting agency and working with brands and people who I believe in. From established big brands looking to shift their narrative to developing newcomers crafting their voice I’m helping people not only tell their story through earned and paid media opportunities, but first helping them to build what their story is and who they are. The ladder is my own. My career is the one I dreamt of but didn’t think could be real. And I’m doing what I love. Building.

🌟 Become the Challenger of Your Own Life 🌟 When I was Managing Director in Publicis, I faced an unexpected layoff under circumstances that felt unjust. The agency was thriving, results were strong, and yet… It was long ago, but I realize now the decision came from someone with more power than wisdom, with a certain art of politics. But that's not the important part. 😱 On my last day, the Executive Creative Director gave me a blunt message: "Be aware, Franck. Here, you were the big shot. Outside, you're just nobody. Without the company name, you're just a cool guy among the others." At first, it felt rude. But looking back, he was right. It’s tough out there. And the reassurance to have a big company name for you helps you to become more assertive. The debate is ‘Does it really?’ 😱 😜 That day, I decided to channel my energy into something bigger – helping the challengers, the ones who dare to step into the unknown. I’ve dedicated my career to empowering those who strive to break the mold, and it's been incredibly rewarding. Challenger brands, challenger agencies, challenger projects… 🚀 So, if you find yourself at a crossroads, remember: It's not about the title or the company behind you. It’s about the drive within you. It is not easy…that’s for sure. I still pay the hard price. Embrace the challenge and make it your own. #Leadership #GrowthMindset #Challengers #Resilience #CareerJourney

Working in Agency Ops can be hard; you’re making big decisions every day, misunderstood, and often feeling alone and isolated... I was working as Head of Ops for a big agency, lining up for acquisition with an Omnicom-backed (even bigger) agency. Strategic decisions, planning, plus keeping the agency rolling and profitable. 18+ months of slog, team management, negotiation, comms, and prep. And (despite working with management/SLT/founders and being surrounded by 50+ team) it was a very lonely place. I looked around for someone else who really got Ops, and couldn't find anything. The closest I got were manufacturing & production communities, but they were all about product (not services), and didn't understand agency life. I made it through, continued on my career, and built my own agency. But thinking back (and looking at the industry as it stands today), I always felt an urge to build a community. Somewhere Ops people could belong, learn, share, and grow. Over the last year, I've slowly built that legacy - and it's now moving into a new chapter. The latest #PayItForward #CommsJobs update
Global Communications Leader | Integrated Brand Marketer | Trusted C-Suite Advisor | Global Team Management | Fortune 50
#Payitforward 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗫𝗫𝗜𝗜: Admittedly, I stepped away from my #jobsearch for the last few weeks. It felt irresponsible because, well, for #jobseekers, landing a job is top priority. However, I found myself emotionally & mentally drained. I needed to remember that while the job is critical, I'm my own top priority. Stepping away, even for a bit, restored my energy & positivity, and provided needed perspective & clarity. If you find yourself overwhelmed by this monster of a market, ask for help. Step away. So proud of my sister-in-law, Nicole Soares for making a decision about working and motherhood that feels right for her. I'm also sad that it takes this level of courage to share that message with a professional world that enjoys the optics of honoring women and motherhood when it's convenient (see: International Women's Day! Mother's Day! Every marketing campaign for a product geared towards Moms!) but falls short of implementing programs, policies and common sense flexibility that would go much further in actually supporting them and championing their rights. The change that could be brought about if we started honoring the duality of the burden AND privilege that is Motherhood and worked to make it possible for women to choose both in a way that didn't break them, would be the ultimate equity move. The answer is NOT better/more childcare, which only separates mothers and children more efficiently across more hours, leaving our mothers burnt out and our children disconnected. Rather, we should be rethinking what we prioritize as a society and taking a fresh approach to what work looks like and how we can provide a bridge to these women during what is essentially, a season (and perhaps the most impactful one, at that). We have a collective responsibility as a society to ensure a healthy, nurturing and connected upbringing for all children in which Mothers are as present as they'd like to be. I am in awe of all the Moms who have chosen this path while trying to keep themselves involved in the professional work that has also been an important part of their lives. *If you know of any professional/working Mothers in this situation who need guidance or support in thinking about how to navigate this tricky time, I offer informal and free of charge support/coaching on this topic/for women. Please feel free to share my information with them.*
My new boss is six months old and brings me so much joy! On what would have been my first week back to work after the birth of our daughter Hadley, I am instead sharing that I left my full-time position as Sales Marketing Manager at NBC & Telemundo CT. While bittersweet, this decision reflects my desire to prioritize raising Hadley and reimagine how work looks for me in this next chapter. I am incredibly grateful for my 10 years with NBCUniversal where I grew immensely personally and professionally! As a Marketing Coordinator I learned the ropes of media advertising and how the many pieces of this puzzle come together to help businesses reach audiences. I then joined the NBCU Sales Associate Program and was blown away by the platforms, scale and network of leaders that make this company a success. For the next five years, I was an Account Executive and worked with local businesses and national brands that taught me negotiation, organization, project management and ownership. I was humbled many times (especially as a sales person during COVID) and learned to have patience with myself and others in a rapidly changing industry. My last stop as Sales Marketing Manager was the most rewarding as I focused on growing and supporting my team and our sales reps. Although transitioning from doing to teaching was a change, I truly loved being a people manager. I am beyond thankful for each of these opportunities, as well as the supportive management and clients I’ve had the pleasure of working for and with. Being a mom and working doesn’t have to be a one-size-fits-all situation. I am excited for this next chapter with my family, while also exploring part-time and/or remote opportunities that continue my career in marketing and advertising. Keep me in mind if you see a role that I would be a good fit for and I look forward to sharing updates as they come! #fulltimemom #parttimework #grateful #marketing #advertising #newchapter

Working at a young agency is a new rollercoaster every day. Much like a rollercoaster, some days are highs, some days lows. But every day is a learning. It is tough. Every day demands you to be courageous, take on new challenges head-on, and navigate a path ahead. Add to this - leading a team of 15 super-talented folks, the responsibilities increase. You soon see yourself in a crisis-solving mode 24/7, due to the nature of agency business. But it is all worth it. The learnings, the growth, the network, the insights, the opportunities - years and years worth of all these, bundled into a few months. Someone once told me, 20 Seconds. You are always 20 seconds of insane courage away from something great coming out of it. It is all about grabbing that opportunity and not letting your internal battles stop you from achieving something great. You shoot for the stars, you'll at least hit the moon! - Insights from a curious observer 🔍 #opportunity #growth #team #agency #thesidstory
