Wazza is back at home base after its inaugural mission. Initially sent out as a rookie with zero hours of experience, it was only meant to be on the job for 14 days. However, the project team found Wazza and the mat troops to be an invaluable addition, extending their stay to 201 days. From snippets of classified information, we know the mats hopped from one scope to another across the project. They began by assisting with geotechnical drilling in a creek bed, surrounded by giant water spiders and resting on elephant ear plant stems. What happened next is a bit of a mystery, but we suspect they were used as a piling platform for drill rigs and access tracks down sensitive waterways, where the use of gravel would have risked having too great of an environmental impact. Judging by the smell they brought back, the mats seem to have settled in some rich and fertile soil. After a cleansing 30-minute bath and a thorough 10-minute inspection, Wazza is back in top condition and ready for its next adventure. Landslips - Romney Marsh Two of our insurer clients have called on Optera to assist with a large slip to the rear of separate properties in Romney Marsh.   Romney, famed for its flat, featureless landscape is framed to the East by Rye with the only Incline within miles.   During the ongoing inclement weather, a large landslip occurred which affected various properties within the road. Landslips vary in complexity and typical considerations are height, inclination, geology, and logistics.    This job has everything!   It’s an incredibly steep slope which is very difficult to access but using a large structural scaffold ramp to get over the properties, we have this week completed the initial vegetation clearance and removal of spoil which accumulated against the houses and even burst through the kitchen door!    Over the next few weeks we will undertake site investigations and a scheme for permanent reinstatement will be prepared for our clients to consider we will hopefully provide further updates as this project develops. #landslip #stabilisation  #construction #siteinvestigations #claimsmanagement #insuranceclaims
