Read the dimensions twice! When you read them the first time you go - yes, we do that! When you really focus on them you begin to wonder around the conditions and connections you have with all learners. Who is least served in your school? The next big lift in school improvement is possible when we change the conditions for all learners to succeed. Time to flip our thinking around the contemporary pedagogy required to see all students learning and achieving. We have been working on building the knowledge and understanding of our leaders in the best way to teach reading. We want our school leaders to have access to the best minds in education. Jodee Wilson, DECYP Deputy Secretary Development and Support, and I are thrilled to be working with Dr Kate de Bruin, AERO’s Carlie Davis and ACER’s Julie Murkins to explore the latest research and evidence in literacy instruction and school improvement. 2024 is an exciting year for all our schools as we continue our system-wide approach to teaching reading in ways that are evidence based and shown to work!
