"The two products every employee at Databricks uses are Glean and Perplexity" — Databricks COI Naveen Zutshi @kashmiriboy Arvind @jainarvind and Aravind @AravSrinivas and their teams have both built incredible products users love. The lesson here, from having worked at Glean and being close to Perplexity is, be paranoid about user love. Users don't care about technology or AI, they care about solving their needs. Arvind used to tell me early on "You worry too much about intellectual problems. The only problem we need to worry about is making customers happy." Aravind never gives airs of a founder who's made it. He asks "What do you think about this product? How can I make this better?"
"The only problem we need to worry about is making customers happy." 🙌 🙌
A tale of Arvinds and Search - could be the title of a book. Incidentally, there's Arvind in Google search
Interesting to see how these two products drive efficiency at Databricks. Inspiring workflow integration!
Reason: Knowledge extraction made easy and fast :)
Would like to see what prompts and approaches they are using - huge Perplexity fanboy here. I haven't opened Google in six months 😃
I think the real lesson is to work on a search engine if your name is Ar(a)vind

2moBuilding a product that users can explain in a single sentence, vouch for, and defend is a true MOAT, and they've nailed it, not just because of the idea itself but because of their vision behind it. Ideas come from a founder's perspective, but a vision always starts with, revolves around, and grows with the customers. The real obsession should be the users and their problems first, then the product not the other way around. And man, they know that very well.
