Is DTH-drilling even possible in cramped 2.5 meter high dam galleries? 👨🏫 Yes, it is possible with LKAB Wassaras drilling technology, and it is possible to do so safely and effectively. One example of drilling in confined dam galleries is Wassaras part in the project at the Angostura dam in Chile. In this case 102 mm dewatering holes were drilled with W80, and 64 mm grout holes were drilled with W50. Another tailings dam failure occurred in 2024! Unfortunately, looking at the chronology of tailings dam failures reveals that less than a month after a tailings dam in Myanmar failed, the #Copler #goldmine #tailings #dam failed in heap leaching area on February 13th, 2024 in Turkey. It resulted in #flow_failure, releasing millions of cubic meters of debris and saturated tailings downstream. Underestimating critical parameters of tailings in the design of tailings dams has a remarkable contribution to such disasters. The #instability of tailings dams and #static_liquefaction is a progressive event that occurs gradually. First silver discovery at Khusib Springs project in Namibia With silver prices rising, Golden Deeps has managed to eke out a maiden silver equivalent resource at its Khusib Springs silver-copper project in Namibia by recalculating existing drill holes using silver as the lead metal. Khusib Springs was thought to be principally a copper project, however the recent ramp-up in the silver price led Golden Deeps to run the rule over the project again – this time promoting silver and not necessarily copper as the key metal. https://lnkd.in/du6TtRq6

Lotus Resources Announces High-Grade Intercepts at Letlhakane Managing director, Keith Bowes, commented, “Letlhakane’s pit constrained MRE for of 118Mlb grading 345ppm U3O8, confirmed that Letlhakane is a large and attractive standalone, potentially company-making project. The infill programme has confirmed our initial interpretation that higher grade pods sit within the current resource shell with the highest grade intercept reported so far at 2,844ppm eU3O8, eight times higher than our average resource grade.
