In the heart of the Big Apple, NY Tech Week is happening. 🥳 According to A16Z, over 700 events are currently brewing innovations and collaborations. This year, as the tech solution builder for bioechosystems, I can feel the different temperature from NY Tech Week 2023 held in October, 2023. In 2024, biotech firms, as the 'Tech' and tech solution providers will become the main pillars of the initiative. The pharma and biotech sectors, along with contract research and manufacturing organizations, are more actively involved in utilizing technology than ever before.🎂 For the record, there were zero biotech-related events and two or three general healthcare-related topics in the previous event in 2023. 3 years before and 3 years following today The European election has just taken place, and already the next election takes place: the EMVA Board of Directors will be elected the day after tomorrow at the general assembly in Gdansk, Poland. Dr. Christoph Garbe, the member of the Board of Directors since 2021, summarizes the achievements during his tenure: "I am committed to new technologies and young companies to bring forward our industry in different verticals. The EMVA now gives startups better opportunities to present themselves to a wider audience of established companies. At the Business Conference this year, for example, there is a dedicated slot for startups to present themselves. The EMVA convention booth, such as at the #Logimat, has also been opened to members, so that young member companies can also exhibit to an international audience at a low cost. Overall, the focus is now more on startups and young companies. However, the progress is not yet sufficient. I will continue to work on bringing startups together with established companies and offering them a platform in the EMVA. It is also important that new technologies are not only presented through research (as part of the European Machine Vision Forum), but explicitly with startup slots, etc.” He has applied to be elected for a second term at the EMVA general assembly.  Don't miss news about the choice that will impact the European image processing industry. At an R-LABS Partner event on November 28, 2022, a group of Canadian real estate leaders came together and listened to UC Berkeley’s Jerome Engel explain how Global Clusters of Innovation work and also heard the evidence of the early stage formation of a Global Cluster of Innovation right here (Thank you Jerry “you can’t read the label when you are in the jar”). Michael Brooks then moderated a panel discussion with Blake Hutcheson, Yung Wu, Jan De Silva, Steve Mennill and Benjamin Tal and the discussion of the crisis conditions in real estate and housing evolved into a vision of the unique innovation opportunity we have in Canada. “What if, together, we created an Industry Innovation Agenda? What if, that Innovation Agenda put in place a set of behaviors that could unlock the potential of a diverse region of Canadians and that led to the renaissance of a region. What if the region stopped being known for being one of the most unaffordable housing markets in the world, and started being known as the place where real innovation happens and where great new companies are created”?
