If you work in sustainability and don’t vote #greenparty then why did you even choose it as a career? We all choose a party that best aligns with your morals and values. No other party stands for sustainability. Green party do not make empty promises and are geared to gradually and steadily help the Uk to reach it’s net zero goals, decarbonisation of all sectors. All change comes at an initial cost, but unlike other parties the #greenpartyuk are not short sighted. Other parties seem to simply appeal to those who want their temporary fixes, having their individual wants satisfied, getting votes that offer nothing more than enabling people’s prejudices, bringing more divide. The Green Party aims to bring unity for mankind and gradually restore our planet and make a future on this planet for all generations to come. This is not a popularity contest, this is a measure of who will fight best to defend humanities survival and the best leader to do that is clear. #Thinkbig #Itsbiggerthanyou #VoteGreen #JudyMaciejowska #torridgegreenparty

🌏 International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples: A Solar Celebration. The International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is celebrated annually on August 9th to raise awareness and protect the rights of indigenous populations worldwide. 🏘 This year's theme, "Leaving no one behind: Indigenous peoples and the call for a new social contract," emphasizes the importance of including, involving, and integrating indigenous people at all levels. 🏢 Indigenous peoples have a profound connection to the natural world, often relying on solar energy for their livelihoods and cultural practices. 🏞 Preserving Cultural Heritage: Solar energy can help protect indigenous cultural heritage by reducing reliance on fossil fuels, which contribute to climate change and threaten sacred sites and ecosystems. 🏜 Empowering Indigenous Women: Solar energy projects can empower indigenous women by providing them with new skills, income-generating opportunities, and leadership roles in their communities. 🏕 Indigenous people harnessing solar power: Images of solar panels in remote indigenous communities, showcasing their innovative use of renewable energy. 🏠 Indigenous land and natural resources: Stunning images of indigenous territories, highlighting their rich biodiversity and the importance of conservation. 🏖 Indigenous faces and stories: Portraits of indigenous people sharing their experiences and perspectives on climate change, culture, and identity. 🌎 Happy Earth Day! 🌎 Earth Day is an annual celebration that honours the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earth’s natural resources for future generations. Today, the Earth Day Network, which brings together more than 20,000 partners and organizations in 190 countries, supports the Earth Day mission year-round. This mission is founded on the premise that all people, regardless of race, gender, income, or geography, have a moral right to a healthy, sustainable environment. 💚 The Earth Day Network pursues this mission through education, public policy, and activism campaigns. These campaigns bring together more than one billion participants every year, making it one of the largest public, secular events in the world. The core collective goals are: 🌱 Broaden the meaning of environment to include issues such as climate change, green schools and environmental curricula, green jobs, and renewable energy; 🌱 Diversify the movement by providing civic engagement opportunities at the local, national and global levels around the world. Recognising that climate change impacts our most vulnerable citizens first and most severely, EDN often works with low-income communities to bring their voices and issues into the movement. 🌱 Mobilise communities by working with partner organisations to provide opportunities for all citizens to become active in the environmental movement. Now more than ever people, wildlife and our environment around the world are feeling the effects of climate change and the detrimental impact we are causing our planet. AND it is now more than ever that we need to continue to do any small step to help protect our planet. We only have one so let's do our part and look after it 🌿🌎💚 #Earthday #oneplanet #love #environment

Are you interested in green energy transitions?🍃This short article is a step into the topic with particular emphasis on women, defenders and land rights in indigenous communities in Latin America ✨ Les invito a darle un vistazo.
Last year I dedicated some time to investigating what we know about the impacts of #green #transitions in #indigenouspeoples. Not only do we know little about this, but most research conducted so far considers Indigenous Populations as homogeneous groups, instead of understanding differentiated impacts depending on identities. We need more evidence based decisions on this subject to ensure a #justtransition Elisa Arond Jose Antonio Vega Araujo Claudia Strambo Ford Foundation International Labour Organization Martin Oelz Annette Löf Katarina Inga Laura Del Duca Adriana Abril Silvija Marcinkeviciute SEI — Stockholm Environment Institute See my blog on the subject here:

While we work towards greater awareness of the circular economy amongst the peoples currently living on Indigenous homelands, the Circular Innovation Council team wishes to underscore the deep connections between Indigenous knowledge and sustainability. Circular economy (CE) principles are not new. The idea of sustainable resource systems, proper land stewardship, and respect for both human and environment ecosystems is not an innovative new colonial concept. It has existed long before settlers arrived on these lands. A CE is founded on respecting planetary boundaries, respecting ecosystems and biodiversity, and recognizing the reciprocal nature of the relationship we have with Mother Earth and all our kin. Indigenous communities have long been stewards of the land, living in harmony with nature through practices that colonial-descended systems are only beginning to recognize through meaningful actions such as reconciliation and standing in solidarity today and every day. We believe that building a sustainable future includes learning from Indigenous Peoples' ways of knowing, and working towards an economic system that respects the Earth and all who live on it. Let us remember the tragedies of the past, acknowledge the truth, and continue to work towards an equitable future for all. We invite you to participate in #TruthAndReconciliationWeek, taking place Sept 23 - 27th and National Truth and Reconciliation Day on September 30th. Learn more by visiting trw-svr.nctr.ca. 🧡 #EveryChildMatters #IndigenousKnowledge #CircularEconomy #Reconciliation #SustainabilityForAll #CircularEconomyMonth #PlanetaryBoundaries
