We tasked the #ChangeEngine to research and explain what’s really going on this #PrideMonth, and devise three simple ways anyone could easily make it more meaningful. If you’re one of the seemingly few beings in the world who truly wish to drive #MeaningfulChange in support of queer rights and opportunities, our unique expertise, public speakers and insights are at your full disposal. Because until more beings find the courage to start discussing the real issue, nobody can thrive. #Science #Truth #Reality #Equality #QueerRights #Change #ItStartsWithUs https://lnkd.in/dwJyv3vv

This #PrideMonth, remember: Tolerating intolerance is hateful. For any trait, fluidity, tolerance and authentic #allyship are the epitome of Humanity. The more courageous integrity you can muster to stay true to your #PersonalIdentity, the more likely you are to reach your full potential and become a #deilightful being. Thus the more oppression you will face from those #dreadful beings who gave up all those things long ago. This system defines the very meaning of life, builds our individual personas, correlates our impact and legacy, and gives rise to #choice as a scientific construct.

"Queer theologies and ethics are different than LGBTQ studies. Part of queer theory is to help us think about the ways that spaces are normatively defined through gendered and sexual constructions. But queer theory now goes far beyond that: considering how indigenous knowledge systems come into play in conversation with queer theory, how womanist ethics and theology push back against the normative whiteness that also shapes a gender and sexual system." In this blog, I unveil the blind spots in the Women, Peace, and Security agenda. I argue that it fails to recognise that all forms of gender-based violence stem from harmful gender norms that perpetuate the subordination of women and devalue femininity in favour of a specific hegemonic masculinity. The disregard for LGBTQI+ experiences alienates and perpetuates the invisibility of queer individuals in conflict. It's time to reshape the WPS agenda.
📣 "There is a significant lack of efforts targeted at addressing violence against the queer community, especially during conflict." ➕ In this blog, Isabella Cordua considers how Bisexual invisibility in general has contributed to a lack of attention paid to Bisexual people in conflict, and calls for more focus to be placed on LGBTQI+ people, and Bisexual people in particular in the WPS Agenda. SJSU School of Information faculty, Dr. Michele Angeline V. and Dr. Darra Hofman, recently published a study about LGBTQ+ students’ library privacy in the COVID-19 pandemic. Per their study, "Utilizing a multi-method, multidisciplinary approach, we conducted a study to examine the information and privacy risks imposed upon or heightened for LGBTQ+ university students by COVID-19, with a focus on the roles of libraries and librarians." 🌈 Celebrating LGBTQIA+ History Month: Embracing Diversity, Honouring Struggles, and Paving the Way for Equity 🌈 As we step into February, let's take a moment to reflect, celebrate, and honour LGBTQIA+ History Month. This month is not just about recognising the triumphs and challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community, but also a reminder of the ongoing journey towards a world that values equity, inclusion, and diversity. 🏳️🌈 Did you know that the first LGBTQIA+ rights organisation in the United States, the Society for Human Rights, was founded in Chicago in 1924? It's a testament to the long-standing fight for equality, a struggle that continues to inspire us today. Let's also shine a light on incredible individuals who have shaped history against all odds. Marsha P. Johnson, a Black transgender activist, played a pivotal role in the Stonewall riots, sparking the modern LGBTQIA+ rights movement. Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected official in California, paved the way for LGBTQIA+ representation in politics. These stories remind us of the strength and resilience of the LGBTQIA+ community, a community that has fought for basic human rights and continues to strive for a world where everyone can live authentically without fear of discrimination. However, LGBTQIA+ History Month is not just about the past—it's a call to action for the present and the future. As we celebrate the progress made, we must acknowledge the work that still needs to be done. Challenges persist, from discriminatory laws to societal biases, and it's crucial that we stand together in the pursuit of true equity. Every month should be an opportunity to champion diversity, elevate unheard voices, and foster a workplace culture that embraces everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression. Let's make a commitment to educate ourselves and others, challenge stereotypes, and advocate for policies that promote equality. By doing so, we contribute to creating a world where everyone can thrive, irrespective of who they are or whom they love. Today, I recommend watching Panti Bliss - The necessity of normalizing queer love. Enjoy. Let this month be a catalyst for positive change, not just within our workplaces but in society at large. Happy LGBTQIA+ History Month, and here's to a future where love, acceptance, and equality prevail! 🌈💙 #LGBTQIAHistoryMonth #EqualityForAll #InclusionMatters
