Delegation of the European Union to Myanmar’s Post

The second student who received the Erasmus MJMD scholarship for this year is Myat Su Mon. Her studies and extensive working experience in the forestry sector have provided her the opportunity to focus on a wide range of global environmental challenges including deforestation, forest degradation, biodiversity loss, environmental policy and governance, and interdisciplinary approaches to managing natural resources. Her interest is to address contemporary challenges in forestry from a perspective of global governance of forests. The EU is supporting her goal to solve such issues through the EMJMD Scholarship for a Master’s Degree in Global Forestry. This Master’s Degree that is offered by a consortium of five universities (Denmark, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy), will provide the chance to Myat Su Mon to become specialized in areas of livelihoods and governance, management and policy, tropical forest ecology, social and environmental responsibility, and agroforestry systems. The EU wishes her the best of luck on her new academic journey from the University of Copenhagen (Denmark) to the University of Padua (Italy) and every step in between!
