Think of it like this, we go to restaurants and food stores when we are hungry. If there wasn't yummy food, we wouldn't go. Your home is a pests favorite restaurant. Big Horn Boxes are a consumers’ delight. A true representation of whole animal butchery that is possible with limited cold storage. 6, 10, or 20 lbs of double-aged, nutrient-dense beef delivered directly to your doorstep. Skip the packers, feedlots, and the grocery store and buy direct. We are your ranchers and we promise to deliver some of the highest quality, nutrient-dense beef on the planet. It is our mission to heal soil and soul through our double-aged beef. The food system has it backwards, quality food has to support the producers first, otherwise we have to focus on short term gains. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/eh9Dp4Ex

How best to preserve your fresh meat Happy sallah to all our Muslim brothers and sisters. I trust we are all enjoying the holidays. It’s the festive period, and for sure, I know meat will be surplus. Even if you didn’t kill any animals, for sure you’ll still receive portions from those that were killed. So how then do you preserve this overflow to maintain freshness until you’ll consume it? There are many traditional and conventional methods of meat preservation, ranging from curing and smoking, frying, freezing, and drying. But which of these methods has been proven to be the most safe, efficient, and retain the freshness of the meat? Refrigeration: For short-term preservation (a few days to a week), storing meat in the refrigerator at temperatures below 40°F (4°C) helps maintain freshness. Use airtight containers or wrap meat tightly in plastic wrap or foil to prevent exposure to air and moisture. Freezing: For long-term preservation (several months), freezing meat at 0°F (-18°C) or below is effective. Properly wrap meat in freezer paper, vacuum-sealed bags, or heavy-duty aluminium foil to prevent freezer burn and exposure to air. Just be sure of what you intend to do with your meat portion so that you’ll get all you desire from it when you want to enjoy it. Seeing my content for the fit time? I’m Bukunmi Makanjuola. I am a food safety practitioner and a professional visual artist. let’s connect. #meat #foodsafety #foodprocessing #freezing #preservation #sallah
