State of the US fixed Broadband market in 2024 This week, Jonathan Chaplin visited Roger Entner and Don Kellogg to discuss US fixed broadband in the spring of 2024. 1. The US Fixed broadband rate is coming down from 2.7% as subsidy programs taper off. 2. Historically, The maximum US reach for mass market technology has been 96%, the peak number for fixed telephony. 3. Cable faces the challenge of addressing the culturally related customer service proposition or the technology-related speed and reliability proposition. 4. Consumers who subscribe to a fiber provider that advertises symmetrical capabilities think they need it more than consumers with different fiber providers. 5. Spectrum assets are crucial when looking at further redefinitions of the competitive landscape. An insightful episode on the state of fixed Broadband in the US. #5G #FWA #Fiber #Cable #DigitalDivide John Yazlle | Paul Challoner | Jaime Gomezjurado

Wireless Advisory Professional | Founder @ Cell Site Capital | Helping large venues, communities, and land owners understand the market value of their wireless assets.
Earlier this week, I spoke with one of Cell Site Capital's large venue clients. They asked, "What is the most compelling reason to continue to invest in more wireless capability within our venue, explained in simple terms for nontechnical people?" To answer this, we created a chart showing the data growth per cell phone. If your venue is experiencing connectivity issues now, prepare for more challenges ahead because we're just beginning to see a significant increase in data usage. In 2019, the average GB per month was 10GB. In 2024, that grew to over 23GB; by 2029, that estimation will grow to 59GB. Buckle up because all of this data growth will require additional infrastructure. #5G #wirelessdata #infrastructure

Have you ever wondered how different frequency bands impact telecom networks? Let's break it down. Think of it as a layered cake: The lower layers, like the 700 MHz band, offer wide coverage but limited capacity. They're essential for forming the base of the network. As you move up the layers to higher frequencies, such as the 5G bands, the capacity increases significantly, but coverage decreases. This balance is crucial for optimizing both reach and performance. Which frequency band is most critical for your network? Let us know in the comments! #TelcoTalks #Telecom #5G #FrequencyBands
