Here, the authors show that ODC1-mediated polyamine synthesis induces ferroptosis and demonstrate the potential of targeting this axis by combining polyamine supplements with radiotherapy or chemotherapy in preclinical lung cancer models." ICYMI: Data published in The International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics further validate the clinical utility of @Veracyte's #Decipher Prostate test to help guide treatment selection in people with intermediate-risk prostate cancer. The findings from the post hoc analysis of Phase III NRG Oncology/RTOG 0126 randomized clinical trial of intermediate-risk prostate cancer patients treated with definitive radiotherapy are the first to demonstrate the validity of a widely used prognostic biomarker in this setting. Congratulations to the teams led by Prof. Beat W. Schafer for their recent research investigating the role of the AXL receptor tyrosine kinase in rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), a pediatric cancer with a poor response to chemotherapy. The team found that targeting AXL with small molecule inhibitors, such as bemcentinib, enhanced the effectiveness of chemotherapy drugs like vincristine and cyclophosphamide, offering a promising strategy to improve treatment outcomes for RMS patients. In investigating the role of AXL in promoting migration in FP-RMS cells, researchers employed both genetic knockout and pharmacological inhibition methods. Source: Omics : a journal of integrative biology This article examines the profiling of kinase activities in diffuse gastric cancer (DGC) for precision oncology. The study analyzes the phosphoproteome of DGC and identifies several kinases that are hyperphosphorylated or hypophosphorylated in DGC tissues. Additionally, potential therapeutic targets in DGC, such as heparin-binding growth factor, heat shock protein 90, and FTH1, are discussed. These findings contribute to our understanding of signaling alterations in DGC and may lead to the discovery of novel actionable targets in gastric cancer.

Unlike breast cancer, ovarian cancer lacks early diagnostic markers and does not show noticeable symptoms until cancer metastases, leading to a low survival rate for ovarian cancer patients.
