The theme for the next issue of the 'Centrum' magazine I edit with Gail Jaffa for the PSMG LLP (and which is designed brilliantly by Dan Hellewell and his team at DH Design) is "culture in business and the workplace". The response from existing and new contributors has been incredible and the issue has been fully commissioned quicker than any I've worked on previously. Clearly it's a topic about which people care - and we have some amazing writers lined-up, including someone who'd be a real coup for any publication of our kind. #marketing #businessdevelopment #publications #communications #culture #culturechange #goodcultures #badcultures #toxiccultures #motivation #motivatingpeople #empoweringstaff #empowerment

From the stage to the hearts of the people - that's the journey an artist takes during a performance. The final show may seem effortless to the audience, but mastering those moves? Let me tell you, it's no cakewalk. At a recent stage performance, I experienced this firsthand while presenting a rather sophisticated piece of Kathak dance with my troupe. We not only had to focus on the craft; but also had to make sure it was visually appealing, easily understood and emotionally stirring for the audience. I can't help but draw parallels between this and my work as a communicator. It's like we're both wizards, wielding our #storytelling magic to turn complex messages from the top management into simple narratives for our employees and customers - easily understood, visually appealing, and motivating to act upon. If you're ever curious about how artists work, ditch the backstage pass and spend some quality time with your corporate communications crew. Trust me, you might find yourself mesmerized by the spectacle unfolding before your eyes! Just remember to give them a round of applause at the end. Here's to the creative communicators - the artists setting the stage on fire! 🎭✨ #corporateCommunications #ArtistsAtWork #writing #designing #creativity

Getting over the need to be liked by everyone can be very freeing. And it can also be a powerful tool to make sure your voice is heard over the din of the crowd. Love her or not (don't worry, she doesn't mind if you dislike her) Emre stands out in an industry where the spotlight seldom shines on the voices behind the words. This is a reminder of the power of authentic identity 🌟 "Emre's fame is particularly noteworthy in an industry that isn't known for turning out charismatic superstars. Reflecting on Emre's path as highlighted in Business Insider, here are 5 key insights on personal branding and the magic of a unique voice: 🔑 Authenticity trumps popularity; it's about making a genuine connection. 🎤 A distinct voice can carve out a niche even in traditional fields. 🔄 Consistency in your message fosters trust and establishes your brand. 🌱 The evolution of your personal brand is a testament to your growth. 💥 Making an impact matters more than widespread recognition. Emre's ascent in literary criticism—a field not known for creating stars—underscores the significance of being true to one's voice. It's a powerful reminder that in a world chasing approval, authenticity and a unique tone resonate deeper, turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. Let’s cherish and share our unique stories and voices, making each word count. 💬✨ Dive deeper into Emre's inspiring journey and the essence of standing out in today's literary landscape:https://lnkd.in/e6jYAGdN. Voiceover Artist💠A Voice That Connects 🎙 Source Connect 🎙 Consulting Partner ◾ Helping Business Attract A+ Talent
It's just my nature. 🤷♀️ Most would agree; it feels good to be accepted. Mark Twain asserted that people only conform to gain the approval of others. Sometimes conformity is a conscious decision, but it often happens with little thought or awareness. The concept made me think of my Carolina roots and growing up in a household with a prevalent Southern twang. When I first studied voiceover (broadcast at the time), instructors worked with me to lose my accent. I had to practice saying "how now, brown cow" repeatedly until my delivery was "neutral." That's what the market wanted, and if I wanted to work in the industry, I needed to conform. But Twain is right—that Southern gal is lurking just below the surface. Get me on the phone with my aunt for ten minutes and, as they say, "She's baaaack." 😎 The accent reappears without me even realizing it. That's an example of conformity that's unintentional and harmless. Trends and fads are other examples. And let's not forget peer pressure. It appears Twain wanted to make us aware of our propensity to conform. A bit of a heads-up, if you will. It's okay to want to fit in; just don't lose yourself. Y'all have a good day! 😁 Have you considered adding the value of voiceover to your marketing and advertising campaigns? How about your website? I can help you with that! 🎙 Always at your service! 🙏 #conform #voiceover #marketing #voiceoverartist #advertisingandmarketing

A dialogue tag exists to clarify who's talking--that's all it needs to do. It shouldn't be fancy, because we're not here to read dialogue tags: we're here for the dialogue. #writingtips #writerslife
