This weekend I started reading (for the fourth time), "Leadership on the Line" By Ronald Heifetz & Marty Linsky Leadership comes in many forms, whether you're a parent, CEO, community activist, student... Leading takes risk and that requires putting yourself on the line, which isn't always comfortable to do. This book was a required reading in my MBA Leadership course, and it is universal for all. This book covers strategies on navigating the perilous of leadership and how to apply it today. I highly recommend!

While recognition and accolades can be validating, they shouldn't be your sole motivation for running for office. Your candidacy should be driven by a genuine desire to effect change and improve the lives of those you represent. Rather than seeking validation or praise, focus on the meaningful impact you can make and the tangible difference you can bring to your community. By prioritizing the needs of your constituents over personal recognition, you embody the essence of transformational leadership. This is how we help participants of our programs truly understand whether running for office is for them.
