Today marks the anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations. The Apology illustrates the importance of truth-telling to support the healing of First Peoples and communities affected by wrongdoings of the past and present. We recognise and honour the culture and history of First Peoples and support First Peoples staff and communities to heal from the hurt, pain, and trauma from past wrongdoings. DEECA is committed to Victoria's truth-telling and treaty process as an important factor of promoting and embedding the principles of Aboriginal self-determination. Today we observe the anniversary of the National Apology to the Stolen Generations, which occurred on 13th February 2008.
