Everyone deserves a place to call home. It’s heartbreaking to think that so many people in our communities are struggling without shelter, safety, and a sense of stability. That’s why it’s so important to support efforts like the one in Lenexa to create a Homeless Services Center. This center would provide critical resources to those who need it most—offering not just a roof, but hope for a better tomorrow. Please take a moment to support the petition to persuade the Lenexa City Council to approve the Special Use Permit for this center. It could be a game-changer for so many lives. It takes just a few seconds to sign, and it could make all the difference. Imagine if it were you or someone you love. Everyone deserves dignity, and everyone deserves a place to call home. Let’s make sure no one is left behind. Your support matters! #EveryoneDeservesAHome #SupportTheHomeless #CommunityMatters #TakeAction #trusttheprocess https://lnkd.in/guw-_Ksg

Executive Director - Linguistic Justice Foundation. Independent Consultant - Linguistic Justice®. Restorative Justice. Stakeholder Engagement Specialist. Organizer.
Please consider making a donation to support this cause 👇 1/31:"The data is alarming. Housing costs in the NYC area went up 68% in the last decade. Evictions nearly tripled in 2023. Homelessness has reached record highs. And it’s not just a New York City problem. Forty of the state’s 62 counties had higher eviction filings in 2022 than before the pandemic. The real estate industry is pouring millions into blocking basic tenant protections. We need to make it clear to our representatives in Albany: Passing statewide good cause eviction protections is the bare minimum. Tell your legislators: We need you to act now to stop unjust evictions and ensure all New Yorkers have a place to call home. 🔴 Tenants have a simple message for our lawmakers: housing is a human right. We won’t let them forget it." https://lnkd.in/eqB9STrv

We need to think outside of the box to solve problems from homelessness to even what we want to eat for dinner. The process of falling through the cracks of homelessness is not something we can punish or use political arguments to defer. Now is the time we have to have the compassion to see that risk factors add up and are unique. There is not one cause to homelessness only the constant political arguments we use to defer our responsibility of creating person centered lived experience driven prevention and empowerment options that are not one size fits all. The answers to these questions may not be ones you can use to prove your social theory or make yourself feel better about where your life is but they are ones we can use to empower and sustain change. I have personally experienced chronic homelessness and can tell you that the risk factors that led to my first homelessness situation was different than the second but the way I was treated was the same. Like a second class citizen that doesn’t know how to tie his own shoes . Even after getting two degrees and entering the field trying to empower others I was treated this way by boses and board members. Sadly a lot of the time the prevention looks like being told to give up and depend on an underfunded system that leads people to depend instead of empower. We change this by listening to lived experience, forming organizations with only lived experiences and then we reach to do what we can do to affect risk factors like joblessness and youth hunger . Let’s do this . #homelessness #livedexperience #housinginstability #mentalhealth #letsconnect #marketing #investment
Jaclyn went from owning her own condo in Chicago to being homeless within a year. She wants the public to know: homeless people are just people.Millions of Americans are just one missed paycheck, one missed car payment, one natural disaster away from homelessness. The Supreme Court will soon decide whether cities across the country can throw people in jail for being homeless, even though the only proven solution to homelessness is ensuring that dignified housing, paired with supportive services, is available to everyone. Thank you to Chicago Coalition for the Homeless for sharing Jaclyn's story with us.

Good advice on bumblebees habitats... 🌼 keep some long grass for ground nesting bees. 🌼fill a birdbox with dry material such as laves and dead grasses for those that like nesting up high. 🌼 keep areas of your border undisturbed for those that like nesting in the ground.
Bumblebee queens are on a mission to find somewhere to nest – and they urgently need your help 👑 #BeeTheChange this spring by providing nest sites for homeless bumblebees 🐝 Discover how you can help 👉 https://ow.ly/T1SM50QOBwm
