Did you know that the number 17 is officially the "the least random" number? This is because 17 was the most common choice by respondents in a study on random numbers! Why is that interesting to me, you ask? Well, our members have 17 jobs on offer this week. Maybe one of these 17 could be the choice that you make. Check them out here: https://lnkd.in/g3NPieZ - or click on the link in our bio.

We imagine a Wales where everyone has the right to a good home
About us
Croeso / welcome. We are Tai Pawb, a Welsh charity dedicated to fostering inclusivity in the housing sector. We imagine a Wales where everyone has the right to a good home. Too many people in Wales don’t have somewhere to live in security, peace and dignity. Too many people face systemic prejudice, discrimination and disadvantage in accessing suitable accommodation. We are determined to change that. We are committed to ensuring that everyone, regardless of background, has fair and equitable access to housing opportunities. We work with our members, policymakers, and communities to eliminate discrimination and advance inclusive practices. Through training, resources, collaboration, influencing and advocacy, we're working towards a housing environment where diversity thrives. Come on this journey with us.

To help share what’s happening elsewhere in the world with the right to adequate housing, we’ve got a guest blog from Dr Jayne Malenfant, who talks about the Canadian approach and how it is being used to support communities who have traditionally suffered from poor access to good homes.

Six years after the tragedy at #Grenfell, the inquiry has concluded that it was a result of 'decades of failure' and that all of the deaths were avoidable. The Grenfell fire is of the most egregious manifestations of inequality and marginalisation… with 85% of victims from ethnic minority backgrounds 41% of disabled residents and a quarter of children residents losing their lives. Having taken evidence from hundreds of witnesses, many of whom were tenants and relatives, it is paramount that their voices are heard. So today, we take the opportunity to pause and remember the 72 people who tragically lost their lives on 14 June 2017. Further, we commit ourselves to continuing working with all partners in ensuring we have a housing system with human rights, equality collaboration and cooperation at its heart - and safety as its key driver.

Do you work for a registered social landlord in Wales? Chances are, you're a member of Tai Pawb! Which means that you can join our members' mailing list and benefit from all things EDI in housing. But why should you? Well, you'll be the first to hear about our free events for members. We know these things can sometimes get lost in forwarded email chains. You'll get the most recent equality and housing updates. What new policies are coming into force. How will this affect your practice? You'll receive good practice guides and case studies. Why reinvent the wheel? You’ll get our Anti-Racism newsletter, to update you how the sector is working toward an Anti-Racist Wales, and how you can play a role. You’ll get tons of resources to support you, your team and your tenants. All free of charge to members. Including some based around awareness days/months. Updates on Back The Bill, our campaign for the right to adequate housing in Wales. We all believe in the right to a good home for everyone. Let’s be practical and figure out how we can get there! And the chance to feed into government policies that affect the most vulnerable or disadvantaged people in our society. Have your say, share that day to day knowledge where it matters. So, if you're interested in just one of these things, then joining our mailing list is definitely worth your while. Sign up here: https://lnkd.in/d_H9Az5H And if you’re not a member, we have a non-members mailing list, too! And if we've over-promised, there's always the unsubscribe button...
