We had the privilege of attending an unforgettable evening hosted by &Tradition at the Royal Festival Hall, celebrating the relaunch of Robin Day’s iconic furniture pieces. Set against the stunning backdrop of the London Eye and Big Ben, the event showcased Robin Day’s designs launched by &Tradition, continuing the iconic designer’s legacy for a new generation and an international audience. London Design Festival Trend Report - https://loom.ly/P6qrFRI Key takeaways from the discussion: 1️⃣ Paula Day reflected on her father’s career, from his ground-breaking work with Hille to his success at the Festival of Britain. Robin’s designs, which expressed hope and optimism, are as relevant today as they were then, aligning perfectly with &Tradition’s ethos. 2️⃣ Paula shared how Robin and Lucienne worked in parallel, feeding each other’s ambition. The synergy between her mother’s textiles, like the famous Calyx design, and Robin’s three-dimensional forms is epitomized in the Daystack series. 3️⃣ Els Van Hoorebeeck explained that Robin Day’s work was chosen for relaunch because of its timeless quality and purpose. His pieces bring both craftsmanship and modernity, aligning with &Tradition’s philosophy to offer enduring, relevant designs that stand the test of time. The Daystack and RFH collections have been thoughtfully updated for contemporary use by &Tradition, ensuring Robin’s legacy lives on through these timeless designs.
