The Distance between Mr Sunil Mohan, a BSc graduate, and Dr Sunil Mohan, a Top Scientist at Harvard, is not just 25 years and a few lost hairs. But its Direction chosen, Strategy adopted, guidance received, encouragement given. At Biotecnika, we firmly believe that every child is gifted and must get the right opportunities. 🎉 Award at Jugend forscht! 🎉 We are proud to announce that NUVISAN has been recognized at Jugend forscht for its outstanding project, Black “gold” from mushrooms – melanin extraction from Armillaria mellea . This prestigious recognition is a testament to our unwavering dedication to fostering future talents in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). In this project, our Microbiological chemistry department collaborated with young talent to establish a protocol for cultivating fungi in shake flasks. His aim was to find the conditions that produce the highest yield of melanin by varying the ingredients of culture media and to conduct first purification steps of melanin. We are thrilled to see that the process we developed generates a melanin yield approximately 1000 times higher than that obtained with conventional methods, such as melanin extraction from octopuses. 💡 We are excited about the future and dedicated to fostering scientific exploration and technological advancement. 📰 For the full news article-> https://lnkd.in/gsRTVihH 🔬 For more information about our Microbiological chemistry solution-> https://lnkd.in/gJHvx2xn 💬 If you are interested in the details about the project, please contact Jakob Wagner Kai Thede #NUVISAN #MicrobiologicalChemistry #JugendForscht #Melanin #STEM

🚀 Making InChI More FAIR: A Milestone for Inorganic Chemistry! 🌍 We’re excited to share the latest advancements in the International Chemical Identifier (InChI), now moving towards a more inclusive and sustainable future! With the release of version 1.07, InChI has stepped into a new era, making chemical data more Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR). Here’s why this matters: 🔑 What’s New? Inclusion of Inorganic Compounds: Historically, InChI focused on organic chemistry, but this update introduces significant changes to better represent inorganic and organometallic compounds. Greater Transparency: InChI development has moved to GitHub, opening the doors for collaboration and community contributions. Over 3000 bugs fixed! New Documentation: InChI’s architecture is now better documented, fostering easier adoption across the scientific community. 📊 Why It’s Important: InChI now drives a more accurate data representation, especially in coordination and organometallic compounds. 🔗 Get involved! Follow the InChI and the InChI Trust on GitHub and help shape the future of chemical informatics. #FAIRData #Chemistry #InorganicChemistry #MachineLearning #OpenSource Check out the fresh article here at Faraday Discussions : https://lnkd.in/ez-9JjKZ Thank you for funding to VolkswagenStiftung, NFDI4Chem and the DALIA (Data Literacy Alliance) project!

What I like most about this InChI version is its encoding of inorganics and oganometallics. Excellent!

E-NICHE aims to connect scientists across different career stages. Some of you ran into Kaia Kask in July at ISCE conference in Prague and shared great views on what young chemical ecologists (and researchers in general) should keep in mind going forward in their career. Today we share the first in a series of motivational quotes for the starting scientists. Feel free to share with other researchers in any discipline! Every scientist counts! 🐛 #ChemicalEcology #COST #ENICHE #ISCE2024

🌟 Exciting times at BOSS XVIII! 🌟 I had the privilege of attending Professor Rebecca Melen's captivating presentation on the powerful properties of boron Lewis acids and their applications in Organic Synthesis. 🧪✨ Her insights into this class of catalysts were truly enlightening! But that's not all! Professor Guillaume Berionni, a renowned specialist in this area, also showcased the incredible work of his PhD students and PostDocs through various posters. 📚👏 One fascinating property of boranes derivatives is their relative Lewis acidity, which is experimentally determined using the Gutmann-Beckett method Acceptor Number. 🔬🔍 In this technique, triethylphosphine oxide serves as a 31P NMR probe. What's even cooler? As highlighted in this AppNote, the benchtop NMR Spinsolve can be used to perform these measurements! 🌀🧑🔬 https://lnkd.in/e4vXk3un Feeling inspired and grateful for the opportunity to learn from such brilliant minds in the field! 🌟😊 #BOSSXVIII #LewisAcids #NMR #Spinsolve #OrganicSynthesis
