🎉 Award at Jugend forscht! 🎉 We are proud to announce that NUVISAN has been recognized at Jugend forscht for its outstanding project, Black “gold” from mushrooms – melanin extraction from Armillaria mellea . This prestigious recognition is a testament to our unwavering dedication to fostering future talents in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). In this project, our Microbiological chemistry department collaborated with young talent to establish a protocol for cultivating fungi in shake flasks. His aim was to find the conditions that produce the highest yield of melanin by varying the ingredients of culture media and to conduct first purification steps of melanin. 🌟 Exciting times at BOSS XVIII! 🌟   I had the privilege of attending Professor Rebecca Melen's captivating presentation on the powerful properties of boron Lewis acids and their applications in Organic Synthesis. 🧪✨ Her insights into this class of catalysts were truly enlightening!  But that's not all! Professor Guillaume Berionni, a renowned specialist in this area, also showcased the incredible work of his PhD students and PostDocs through various posters. 📚👏 One fascinating property of boranes derivatives is their relative Lewis acidity, which is experimentally determined using the Gutmann-Beckett method Acceptor Number. 🔬🔍 In this technique, triethylphosphine oxide serves as a 31P NMR probe. What's even cooler?
