Feeling the sting of unexpected departures within your team? 😣 With the unsettling reality that 41% of UK employees waved goodbye to their jobs in 2023, and the prospect of this trend escalating, it's time to take action. Recent data from UK employers, forecasting potential attrition in 2024, reveals that a fifth of workers are teetering on the brink of departure within the next year, while an additional 12% see themselves leaving within two years. So, what's the solution to cutting this turnover rate by 30%? Simple: One-to-one meetings! (Yes, it's that straightforward.) But why are these regular catch-ups so powerful? ✅ They empower employees, providing a platform to openly discuss issues, confront challenges, and talk about their goals & aspirations. ✅ They fortify the company's performance through regular updates, ensuring alignment and productivity remain strong. ✅ They proactively manage employees' stress levels by addressing concerns and combatting pain points quickly. ✅ They can help instil trust and connection between team members and leaders, creating a supportive and collaborative work environment. So, say goodbye to those unstructured Teams/Zoom gatherings and embrace the positive impact of focused, one-on-one conversations! 💡 💭 Do you have regular one-to-one's with your team?

Certainly helps but there’s a fine balance to be aware of… People need autonomy and agency in their role. Too many 121’s can start to feel over managed or micromanaged so it’s a fine balance. If you’ve got the right person in the role, let them fly. Some great people get bored! So maybe lateral moves to different roles keep the fire alive. Some have come to a natural end of their life in the organisation and should be actively supported to move on. This shows real generosity of leadership. Not everyone can be top dog in an organisation and great people often need the role they’ve had in your organisation as part of their journey. This is positive for you as it makes you an attractive employer, one to whom the right talent will come.

Dhruvin Patel it’s the only investment that makes sense. Cover both work and life balance as you get a better understanding of who they are and can help them grown as a person and not just an employee.
