What would you do if someone stole your house & livelihood, killed some of your family, & left the rest of you with nothing, to live in the squalor of a refugee camp? That is what Israel did to over 750,000 Palestinians in 1948, over 300,000 in 1967, over 250,000 since 1967, & MORE EVERY YEAR – simply because they are not Jewish. Most of the families in Gaza owned homes & farms where Israeli cities & towns now stand, which Israel literally stole from them. Most even still have their front door keys. Israeli Sources: 1) https://lnkd.in/geiy3_5s, 2) https://lnkd.in/gBV8ipGy, 3) https://lnkd.in/g6726cMj And how can anyone claim that this conflict started on October 7th when between 2000 & Oct 2023, Israeli soldiers & settlers killed nearly 2300 Palestinian children, including 43 children during the 9 months just before Oct 7th (names & details on BTselem.org). Israel has also imposed a brutal 57 year occupation/apartheid on Palestinians, & a brutal blockade of Gaza since 2005 - both illegal under international law, immoral, & ongoing acts of war. Israeli Sources: 1) https://lnkd.in/gSYf7exV, 2) https://lnkd.in/gvXiS65k, 3) https://lnkd.in/g2rANpCA, 4) https://lnkd.in/gaZSz8PX And when Palestinians have tried to protest peacefully, Israel shoots them in the knees, kills, or at least imprison & beat them. If you don't believe it, please read this 2020 Haaretz article titled: “42 Knees in One Day: Israeli Snipers Open Up About Shooting Gaza Protesters”: https://lnkd.in/g4VqQRzs And if you still believe the lie that Israel has offered Palestinians many generous peace deals that they keep rejecting, please read this article: https://lnkd.in/g2_EV6dV And now our government is actually helping Israel commit genocide. According to our own U.S. military, Israel has killed OVER 25,000 WOMEN & CHILDREN in the past 5 months: https://lnkd.in/gtQtw9zc Can you imagine how big a pile of 25,000 dead mothers & children would be? Well our taxes are helping pay for it & it’s getting bigger every day. Israel has also orphaned over 30,000 children, & has demolished the homes of around 1 million children, making them homeless during winter. And Israel is still blocking aid to these children, KILLING THEM WITH STARVATION, DEHYDRATION, & DISEASE, in addition to U.S. supplied bombs. Israeli & Jewish-American sources: 1) https://lnkd.in/gSZVTaDY, 2) https://lnkd.in/gYpkU3ah, 3) https://lnkd.in/gErBF5hY, 4) https://lnkd.in/gavyg7E9, 5) https://lnkd.in/gWscBWrC PLEASE WRITE & CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES & the White House to demand they stop helping Israel kill & starve children, commit war crimes, & maintain its brutal & racist apartheid, with our tax dollars & U.N. veto protection. And here is University of Chicago Prof. John Mearsheimer explaining why our government does whatever #Israel wants: https://lnkd.in/gQrBHwR7

In the spirit of celebrating with my dear friend chinyere Ikele, who just got selected as a representative for the Early Career Leadership Program of the Genetics Society of America (https://lnkd.in/e5Q-8B-U), I would be posting some international professional bodies in the field of genetics (animal and human) or animal science that give free or affordable memberships to students or scientists from low- and middle-income countries. I would attach the link, which you can engage to benefit from the opportunity. This is particularly interesting for those who are on the lookout for graduate school opportunities. Membership in these professional bodies can boost your application. Also, these bodies have opportunities such as grants and early career mentorship programs for members, which you can benefit from. 1. Genetic Society of America: https://lnkd.in/eHBa-rVw As seen on their website, 'Scientists and students who are full-time residents of countries with low- and middle-income economies are eligible for a complimentary two-year GSA membership. Please email society@genetics-gsa.org to request or renew an LMIC Membership.' 2. Poultry Science Association: https://lnkd.in/ewdqJcvT As seen on their website, 'All student members are automatically members of the PSA Student Hatchery and the USA Branch of the World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA-USA). Student membership is FREE. Graduate students can maintain their PSA Graduate Student membership for up to 5 years, and undergraduate students can maintain their PSA Undergraduate membership for up to 4 years with annual renewals.' 3. American Society of Human Genetics: https://lnkd.in/ewt_zhV5 As seen on the website, 'ASHG proudly offers reduced dues rates for ASHG members living and working in resource-limited countries. The dues structure is based on the World Bank Resource-Limited Country categories. Prices are automatically calculated in your purchase.' - Nigeria and India fall into category 2 so grad students pay $15 while undergrads pay $9 4. Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution (SMBE): https://lnkd.in/eXG3Gk45 As seen on their website, 'Students from underrepresented regions may apply for free membership. Please email smbe.contact@gmail.com with details of your status (undergrad? postgrad?), name of PI (please cc your PI), and full affiliation details, including postal address.' #Genetics #opportunities #graduateschool #animalnutrition #animalscience Continued in the comment session. Tag and share with anyone who might need these resources.

Oral Cholera Vaccines (OCVs)have proven to a cost-effective and short to medium-term intervention in curbing Cholera epidemics. Following the Global Taskforce For Cholera Contol's (#GTFCC) approval and delivery of the OCV in the country, 1.5 million doses have been administered to residents in hotspots, however, #myths and #disinformation continue to hamper the efforts to cover risk populations. As part of our strategies to support the #multisectoral response, tomorrow we discuss all matters vaccines, in an effort dispel some of the community misconceptions and beliefs about vaccines. Join us as we interact through Q&A with the public. We maintain our position that OCVs are not the sustainable solution but #WASH INFRASTRUCTURE, behavioral change on personal hygiene, decentralization of development to rural areas, addressing economic fundamentals that in turn increase income per capita.....etc.
Join us in spreading awareness about Cholera and stay updated with ZMA Secretary General, Dr. Oliver Kaoma, on tomorrow morning's Red Hot Breakfast Show at 07:50 AM. Tune in for a chance to win exciting prizes.

💡 During the 1️⃣ st in-person consortium meeting of the PRO-GRACE project, that took place in Chania, Greece, in October 2023, we took a moment to speak with project partners to get their take on why the project is important and what their specific role in it is. Lise Lykke Steffensen, Director of NordGen, offered insights into the activities her organization engages in as part of PRO-GRACE and explained the significance of creating a research infrastructure specifically focused on plant genetic resources. 🎥 https://lnkd.in/gu-ds2ia #PlantGeneticResources #cropbiodiversity #researchinfrastructure #research #innovation #HorizonEurope EU Science, Research and Innovation EU Health and Food Safety
