𝐃𝐈𝐂𝐓, 𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐏𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍’𝐒 𝐒𝐄𝐌𝐈𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓𝐎𝐑 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐒 𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐔𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐘 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐆𝐄 𝐀𝐓 𝐂𝐄𝐒 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐈𝐍𝐕𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐀 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐔𝐒𝐀 The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), in collaboration with the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), the Department of Science and Technology, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), and Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines (SEIPI), successfully conducted a crucial Business Mission for the country’s Semiconductor and Electronics Industry in the United States of America last 4-17 January 2024. The Philippine Delegation was able to generate US$ 27 million in potential initial sales mainly from the interest generated by the Philippine Booth at CES 2024. CES 2024, which was held on 07-10 January 2024, is billed as the most powerful and influential tech event in the world. Over 4,000 exhibitors and 118,000 attendees from 151 countries participated in the said event where the world’s biggest brands, companies, economic leaders, and global innovators exhibited their ingenuity and breakthroughs in the field of technology. The delegation came into force for a series of marketing and promotional activities showcasing the innovative and technological capabilities of our own local companies. DICT Industry Undersecretary for Support Services Heherson M. Assidao presented the current state of digital landscapes, infrastructures, and improvement of the business environment taking place domestically in the World Electronics Forum and Philippine Investment Forum within the conference. Prospective investors were reassured that the Philippines is a conducive place for business ventures and a smart investment choice for the electronics industry. Undersecretary Assidao highlighted the Philippine push for innovation and use of emerging technologies and discussed the country’s agile approach in technology, innovation, and investment. “There is still a long way to go before we can go toe-to-toe with the developed countries, but we are confident that we are making moves in the right direction to become one of the best investment hubs in the world,” said Undersecretary Assidao.
