In memory of all the pain that the world is experiencing, little by little and always healing, I started the month of September by watching two documentaries about the events of 9/11 22 years ago. It is elementary that many other tragic events even closer to me and in my country also deserve my respect and reflection, and this always happens, but this event in particular impacted the entire world, and me personally, in what I would decide for my future as an adult and my career. I remember exactly the day it all happened. I was at school, I studied in the morning and when the class ended, on the way home, all the televisions in houses, bars and bakeries were showing the same news, and everyone made the same comment: “Now we will have the 3rd world war” . After all the confirmation about the terrorist attack, days, months, years passed and the feeling of justice and American patriotism also inspired me to serve my country in some way so that nothing like this would happen in Brazil or in the world. The years passed, I fulfilled my duty in the Brazilian Army, but today, as a Security professional, I feel that I continue with my duty, protecting the world, people, the world economy, through the reflection, impact and responsibilities that the companies I worked for and work has in society. The lessons that 9/11 left will always be important for the world, and despite the pain, the 3 that I like to remember most to maintain my discipline and humanity and evolution are: Never underestimate the risk - “but that never happened”. Always remember those who didn't need to be gone. Be better, Faster and stronger. #memorial #neverforget #911memorial #september #wtc #tribute #onedayinamerica #turnpoint #theworldchanged

Diego Filipe Serpa dos Santos Thank you for sharing your reflections on the impact of 9/11. As a fellow former Brazilian Army officer, I resonate with your sentiments. It's a reminder that our service and commitment to security extend beyond borders. The lessons of that day remain essential: never underestimate risks, honor those we've lost, and strive to be better, fostering strength and unity.
