While #Fallout wears the crown as Prime Video & Amazon MGM Studios' biggest global hit of the year, the platform has a local success that drove high audience levels in the UK... The release of season 3 of Clarkson's Farm in May quickly became the Prime Video UK's most streamed show of 2024. Netflix has garnered accolade for the production of global hits like #SquidGame and #Bridgerton, but Prime Video's success often lies in local content heroes. The LOL franchise, adapted for several European markets consistently tops SVOD viewing rankings in its country of origin. But in the UK, Clarkson's Farm is the local success of the year. Understanding the subscriber value of local hits vs. global hits is a key element when it comes to establishing and growing a global streamer. Join the viewing revolution. 8 out of 10 Americans subscribe to one of Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime, Max, or Hulu. That's a lot to live without, which is why we call them the Big Five. What if three of them were bundled together? A Canadian carrier(Telus) is bundling "Netflix, Disney+ Prime Video". This is the so-called "Super Bundle" I don't think any customer would be unhappy with this combination, but it's not great for small or medium-sized K-content streamers. So should we do a K-entertainment super bundle (K-drama K-pop, K movie?)? We analyzed the streaming market forecast for 2024 and the future of K Entertainment. https://lnkd.in/giyWTdcd

Netflix commissioned over 200 shows and movies, while Amazon Prime Video commissioned around 140, according to Ampere Analysis. This period marked Netflix's most prolific quarter in three years and a record for Prime Video. In contrast, other streamers like Disney+, Paramount+, and Apple TV+ lagged significantly behind. Both Netflix and Prime Video ramped up their investments in producing high-quality original content, ranging from critically acclaimed series to blockbuster movies. This strategy not only attracted new subscribers but also retained existing ones. Both platforms formed strategic partnerships with prominent creators and production houses, ensuring a steady stream of exclusive content. Additionally, they acquired rights to popular IPs, boosting their libraries with fan-favorite titles. All it seems the dedication brings success...

Interesting move by Prime Video & Amazon Studios Dear Existing customer, if you don’t want to watch adverts whilst watching content, please pay £2.99 more. Feels more like a ransom note than a brand communications or customer service announcement. I agree with ad supported streaming as an option, different subscription packages to suit different households and budgets, but I think Prime Video & Amazon Studios have got this one wrong and could see a sharp downturn in subscriptions to start the New Year. #primevideo #streamingmedia #streamingvideo #entertainmentindustry #film #tv #svod

24 years of Blockbuster vs. Netflix tell a compelling story. Adaptability is a superpower. In 2000: "Movies at your local store." In 2024: "Entertainment at your fingertips." What changed? Everything and nothing. The delivery method evolved dramatically. But the demand remained the same. Netflix isn't just streaming. They deliver convenience. Movies without leaving home. To enjoy your life effortlessly. Remember your delivery may change. Your core promise shouldn't. 👋 P.S. Do you remember late fees at Blockbuster? Netflix's "no late fees" was a game-changer. I still appreciate it haha. Don't get left behind—join hands with technology before your competitors outpace you. #blockbuster #netflix #codevdigital #technology #webdesign #webdevelopment

Who remembers Blockbuster? Ya know, that movie rental place that used to sit on every corner in almost every single town in the US?! Remember how fast they went out of business, seemingly out of nowhere? Can you guess what happened to them? I'll give you three of the main reasons we no longer have this giant in our presence: 1. Blockbuster ignored chances to buy Netflix, sticking to its brick-and-mortar model. 2. Because of this decision, they were late to streaming. HUGE opportunity missed. 3. This also lead to customer inconvenience. Streaming is now in every single household across the United States- Because who wants to get dressed and go to the store every time you want to watch movies?! Right?! (Yes, we really did that "back in the day", as some would say. 😲 🤷♀️ ) They ignored the shift in the market. They ignored their customers. In the bat of an eyelash, it was all gone. It almost seemed like it happened overnight. What steps are you taking to ensure that your customers are top of mind and the main focus in your business models? #EmotionalSelling #TransacationalSelling #CustomerSatisfaction
