😈 Good news for #Marvel fans who got their first look at Daredevil: Born Again with the trailer release this week - and, we expect, just as good news for #Disney+ viewing figures. 🦸 The Mouse House brought the former #Netflix Marvel shows, including #Daredevil, over to Disney+ in March 2022 and has been laying the ground work for the superhero character's full return in other projects since. 📺 Charlie Cox reprised the Matt Murdock/Daredevil role in a 2021 Spider-Man movie, as well as 2022 Disney+ series #SheHulk and most recently in January 2024's #Echo. 📈 As Digital i data below shows, there is high anticipation for the character's return in sequel show Daredevil: Born Again. Disney spending nearly a quarter of a billion on "Secret Invasion" is another example of how financially irresponsible the company was. There is absolutely no reason why a streaming series should cost so much. "Disney has revealed that the cost of making its Marvel Studios spy drama Secret Invasion surged to a staggering $224.3 million (£196.6 million) after it shelled out $37.5 million (£30.7 million) on post-production of the six-part streaming series. The colossal cost is revealed in filings from Disney which state that Secret Invasion "was forecast to be over the production budget." It makes the critically-panned show 37.9% more expensive than Marvel's highly-regarded second season of Loki. Hollywood 🤝 YouTube | This take is *chef's kiss* It's also a great example of Hollywood adjusting with the times in order to maintain interest with their developing audiences, and capture new ones who have become more familiar with these YouTube formats than any specific Late Night host. We've been able to see these formats morph and change throughout the years and the more Hollywood acknowledges them, the better they become. I think it's particularly interesting that most of these formats are still coming from big publishers that have wisely decided to expand their publishing arm to YouTube with ORIGINAL formats. I think Hollywood still has time to reckon with how they work with and treat independent content creators across platforms. I see a rise in this coming as so many content creators move towards podcasting, and those podcasts becoming more visual. Either way, it's a good move in the right direction for Hollywood.

Disney has revealed that the cost of making Star Wars streaming show Andor has surged to $645 million (£504.8 million) after it spent a record $290.9 million (£232.1 million) last year on filming its second season which will debut in April 2025. It is the highest-ever annual spending on a Star Wars production disclosed in Disney's public filings. The staggering sum eclipses the $280.7 million (£211.8 million) spent on Star Wars: The Last Jedi over the almost 11 month period to March 16, 2019. Likewise, it is higher than the $243.8 million (£193.6 million) cost of The Force Awakens, Disney's debut entry in the sci-fi saga, during the year-ending November 15, 2016. Remarkably, the cost of Andor's second season is set to soar even higher as the $290.9 million was spent during the year to November 22, 2023 which doesn't even cover all of the shoot. https://lnkd.in/eV2uyKCJ
