Crowell Health Solutions (CHS) had the privilege of hosting The Joint Commission's insightful event, which convened leaders from HHS and federal agencies, members of Congress, health systems, patient organizations, technology companies and other healthcare stakeholders, to discuss the role of AI in the health and human services sector. This event was a significant step forward in discussing the need for policy guardrails governing the use of AI for clinical care and other health purposes. We are honored to have been part of this important conversation and remain eager to continue this dialogue. #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #Healthcare #HealthPolicy
Artificial intelligence (#AI) is one of the most important issues in healthcare. This week, we convened a group of key congressional, government and healthcare leaders in Washington, D.C. to help inform The Joint Commission’s industry guidance on healthcare AI. As we gather more stakeholder input, our intention is to help healthcare organizations sort through this complicated issue – remembering that critical to all our work is keeping the patient at the center of what we do. CEO at National Association for Healthcare Quality I Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Women in Healthcare, 2023
Last week I had the opportunity to attend a session with The Joint Commission where a cross section of public/private stakeholders discussed AI in healthcare. What struck me about this event is that as much as AI is a technical solution, in healthcare, it is being created by humans, for human (patient) benefit. We healthcare leaders need to step up to lead on responsible and practical uses of AI and the more leaders like Jonathan Perlin can lead us through these critical discussions – the safer and smarter the result will be.
