The U.S. Army is pioneering a groundbreaking approach to modern warfare with its new cross-functional team focused on "all-domain sensing," aiming to dramatically enhance decision-making speeds on the battlefield. Recognizing the evolving nature of conflicts against sophisticated nation-states, the initiative seeks to integrate traditionally exclusive intelligence systems directly to front-line units. This strategic shift involves leveraging both high-level intelligence and tactical data, ensuring swift, informed actions against adversaries. Spearheaded by Andrew Evans and supported by artificial intelligence and machine learning, this effort emphasizes the use of diverse, interconnected sensors and robust edge computing to optimize reconnaissance and target acquisition. By doing so, the Army intends to maintain a decisive advantage in dispersed, fast-paced future conflicts, highlighting a significant evolution in how military operations leverage technology for strategic and tactical superiority. #usarmy #alldomainsensing #modernwarfare #intelligenceintegration #decisionmakingspeed #sensorstoshooter #artificialintelligence #machinelearning #edgecomputing #futureconflicts Source- https://lnkd.in/grW2-jck

Aptima receives Defense Health Agency contract for 'CrewCare-HHS,' a helmet-integrated multimodal sensor system to ensure pilot safety and well-being. The ambitious Future Vertical Lift (FVL) program aims to advance military helicopter technology, introducing AI-enabled systems and increased complexity. In this context, the role of the lone pilot becomes even more critical, necessitating real-time health and performance monitoring. To address this challenge, Aptima and partners at The University of Toledo, NextFlex, and AAMplified Solutions, are developing the CrewCare-Helmet Health System (CrewCare-HHS). CrewCare-HHS comprises an unobtrusive multimodal sensor on the forehead, a modular data analytics framework, and a compact edge processing unit. Aptima welcomes the adoption or merging of your technology with one or more of our SBIR Topics. We are eligible for SBIR Enhancement funding, as well as TACFI and STRATFI awards, all of which are sole source. Full story here: https://lnkd.in/eNJinvNg U.S. Army photo by Spc.
