FROM PARIS 2024 TO LA 2028: TEAM SA's FINAL OLYMPIC ROUNDUP LINK: https://lnkd.in/d__ai2Cm 10714 athletes in 329 sports 48 disciplines. Landed in Paris from 206 nations to compete at the 2024 Olympic Games. The athletes competed fairly in the Olympic spirit. There was controversy, competition, camaraderie, everything the games need. From a Team South Africa perspective. We performed better than Tokyo which brought only 3 medals and that’s important to note, because from the words of SASCOC president Barry Hendricks our target was to perform better here and do even better in LA 2028. In these games we had moments of brilliance with resulted resulting in 6 medals. 6 moments of brilliance. From the BlitzBok in the rugby to Alan Hatherly on the bike, to Tatjana Smith our greatest Olympian in the pool, to the unbelievable 4x100m relay sprint team and through the amazing arm of Jo-Ane van Dyk in the javelin.
