Yesterday March the 1st was the "World's Future Day" ☝ World Future Day is held every year on March 1st to spark a global conversation on the future. World Futures Day begins at 12 noon in New Zealand and is a round-the-world event which moves westward hour-by-hour, ending 24 hours later in Hawaii. The public is invited to drop in anytime to listen, share ideas, and discuss how to create a better tomorrow with futurists, thought leaders, and engaged citizens worldwide. I think #mwc2024 happening this week was a peak to the future too...I would highlight this 5 main takeaways from current edition: 1️⃣ Humanizing AI More than 40 sessions at the event focus on artificial intelligence, with Mobile World Congress officials emphasizing that generative AI is on the verge of transforming the way we work, live and interact. Despite this potential, only 35% of business leaders have expressed a focus on governing AI systems and processes. 2️⃣ Manufacturing DX In the year 2020, digital transformation within the manufacturing sector held a valuation of $263.9 billion. Projections indicate that this number is set to surge to $767.8 billion by 2026 3️⃣ Beyond 5G So, how is 5G shaping the future? The advantages of 5G are extensive and diverse. 5G has played a pivotal role in fostering intelligence at the network edge. As we move into the next phase of 5G, emphasizing the necessity for comprehensive AI integration, forthcoming mobile generations are poised to rapidly learn, self-orchestrate and introduce novel possibilities in our interactions with devices. 4️⃣ Connecting Everything As the count of connected IoT devices is poised to surpass 15 billion within the next two years, establishing connections across everything necessitates network solutions that are open, seamless, sustainable and secure, according to MWC officials. 5️⃣ 4YFN For a decade 4YFN it's been one of the benchmark events for the international entrepreneurial ecosystem, bringing together technology startups, investors, corporations, and public institutions to generate synergies and joint business agreements. 4YFN is the event partner of MWC Barcelona, the world’s largest and most influential connectivity event. AI, Healthtech and Quantum computing will definitely be key players in the short term... A better way to end a week filled with MWC and hints about the future than celebrating the International Day of the Future doesn't occur to me 🙌
